Review: Must have foot for your sewing machine! - I just received this Even feed/Walking Foot today. I own a Singer Heavy Duty 4423 and it went on with a no issues at all. I tested it out a bit before I had to leave for work, and it seems to work very well. I was impressed when I folded up some vinyl and was able to sew through 12 layers! I would barely even squeeze it under the foot, but it fed right through. It wasn't the most beautiful top stitch, and I don't think I would ever do that in a project, but it gives me confidence in what my little machine can handle with this foot. I will update this review if my opinion changes after further use.

**Q: Does this work on the Singer Featherweight 221 and 222 models?**
A: The SINGER Even Feed Foot is compatible for use with most low shank sewing machine models.  The machine you are inquiring about is a low shank model, so this foot should work.

**Q: Can someone tell me what low shank means?**
A: When I read low shank in the description, I didn't know what it meant either. I went to google. Below is one answer. I have an inexpensive Singer machine about 6 years old and the foot fit perfectly. Good luck Screw In or Snap OnThere are two ways to attach the foot to the machine. Most newer machines use feet that snap on to the shank, and if this is the case with your machine, you do not need to worry about the shank size. However, if you own an older machine, you will need to measure the distance between the bottom of the presser foot and the screw.Low ShankThe measurement for a low shank machine is 3/4 inch. Most sewing machines are low shank, especially those created for home use. Since they are created with consumers and hobbyists in mind, low shank machines have the greatest variety of available presser feet.High ShankThe measurement for a high shank machine is between 1 and 1 1/4 inches. High shanks appear mostly on industrial machines, though they also appear on a few home models such as Kenmore, Necchi and other quilter machines.

**Q: will this walking foot work on heavy duty Singer machines?**
A: if, by heavy duty you are referring to a singer 15-90 or singer 15-91 the answer is yes. I made my sons and grandson fleece jackets and the walking foot is great when sewing fleece material.

**Q: Will this foot work on a Viking Lily 550**
A: Husqvarna Viking is the parent company for Singer.  Many of the feet are compatible.  Ask your dealer and if they offer you a generic walking foot for about $32, saying it will fit your machine, then yes, this one will likely fit as it is the same thing that they are pulling out of a drawer and selling for a higher price ($32 plus local taxes that is).

I just received this Even feed/Walking Foot today. I own a Singer Heavy Duty 4423 and it went on with a no issues at all. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Get This Foot - Up Your Sewing Game!!

Wow - this walking foot has really upped my sewing game. Had this on my machine non-stop for about four months now. No longer am I struggling with “fabric jams” holding up my stitching. I’m not an amazing seamstress by any means but I really feel that this food has given me a lot of confidence and has made me feel like I can more easily sew difficult types of fabric with ease (polar fleece and Jersey knit in particular). It has also made pleating a breeze. It didn’t come with instructions BUT... HINT: It was easy to install after looking up a video on YouTube. You can also look up how to use it on YouTube as well. Super basic, if I can do this anyone can! The only thing to be aware of is make sure the bar on your machine will connect with the lever on the food. I went to the Singer website to confirm compatibility with my machine model number. The price here on Amazon was much cheaper. My only complaint is some fabrics catch on the tiny foot pad that is on the very back of the foot, as it’s ridged and can catch the edges of some fabrics. It doesn’t happen all the time but I do have to keep an eye out for that and pause and life the food for a second to adjust the fabric just a smidge, to avoid bunching and messing up my stitch. This would probably happen with any walking foot so I don’t blame the product. Over all - five stars foe me!
