Great idea for low carb
I add about 1/3 of this to regular rice and have not noticed much difference. If anything, this makes for more fluffy texture perfect for fried rice, donburi, and curry rice. I also add half and half mochi barley to my rice and love the texture ie 1/3 mannan hikari, 1/3 mochi barley, and 1/3 rice with a little more water in my rice cooker. I always let the mixture with water sit for about 30 min before turning rice cooker on. You can also just use this and regular rice. Very impressed with texture and taste. Because you are adding to rice, it is not no carb. It is lower carb. This is from someone who was born in Japan and been eating rice all my life. Btw, from Mannan Hikari Japan site, you can make all mannan hikari. They recommend 75 grams of mannan hikari to 300 cc ie ml of water in rice cooker. No rinsing of mannan hikari is needed. Good use this way is risotto, curry rice, rice salad, congee, fried rice, etc. Basically most can be made with 100 mannan hikari. One exception may be sushi, maki sushi ie sushi roll, and onigiri ie rice balls. People mention it does not form well for these and texture is not right.

Great taste, low carb but too much for Keto
TAste just like real rice, it has a bit lower caarab than rice, but its too much carb for Keto.

Pretty good.
Originally, I bought this product in Japan and loved it. So, I am glad that I was able to find it on Amazon. The texture of the rice would be changed slightly, less sticky, but the flavor of the rice would remain the same. I made regular steamed rice, fried rice and sushi roll, everything came out good. And, it is 33% less calories than regular rice. Awesome!

Great taste and easy to cook in a electric rice cooker
It really tastes 95% like rice. The thing is you should have a soupy gravy curry to eat with it and you can’t find any difference ( didn’t mix any normal rice at all). I cooked this after washing it throughly in a normal electric rice cooker, pouring 1:2 ratio for rice:water and it was easy rather than cooking it on a stove.

This is not keto or low carb product/ please take care of this product and translate this language After I opened the product and used it Ir completely destroyed my keto and low carb diet It contains high carbohydrates like normal rice We should not bay any money as a shirataki rice The seller cheated us by the Chinese or Japanese language written on this bad product It destroyed all the time I wasted for my health in keto diet

Not even low carb!
I really put high hope on this product. But as soon as it arrives all I need is my android phone camera to Google translate the Japanese language package. It is not as low carb as I wanted and definitely NOT a keto! It does say reduced sugar by 30% but it's still above 20gr per serving! If you are into low carb, and keto, this is not really for you.

初回購入分は分量を勘違いしていて、白米と本品を1:1で炊いていました。パラっとはしているものの、まあ食べられる範囲だなと思ってたのですが、2回目の購入で1:0.5が適正なことを理解しました。おかげでしっとりと炊き上がり、より美味しく食べています。

商品パッケージにも注意書きがありますが、目盛りの通りに水を入れても米や炊飯器によっては炊き上がりが柔らかくなるとのことで、初めて炊いた時は「失敗したかも」と思うぐらい柔らかめでしたが、食べてみるとそんなに柔らかすぎる感じもなく、むしろとても美味しく食べれました。何度か炊いてみて好みで水分調整するといいと思います。味も食感も違和感なく、普通の白米のように食べれています。これなら続けられそうです。

最近糖質の摂りすぎで家族みんな太ってきてるので、初めてマンナンヒカリ使ってみました。食べてみて癖はなく普通に食べました。でも弁当に持っていったらちょっとパラパラでちょっとパラパラで箸で掴みづらかった。

米の価格がまだまだ高い昨今、 米の約半分の量で1合分のかさ増しが出来るこのマンナンヒカリ有難く使っています。 入れてすぐ炊飯すると水多めにしないと結構パラパラに、 時間を置いてマンナンヒカリに吸水させ(水の量が結構減ります)てから炊くと丁度よい塩梅かなと感じました。 味、見た目とも混ぜてしまえば違和感なく美味しく食べれるのでお薦めです。 ただこのマンナンヒカリ自体も価格の変動が激しいので セールやクーポン出現時に定期便で買うのが狙い目です。
