The SATA cable length itself is rounded and high quality over standard SATA cables. The problem I had was that I could not fit more than 1 side by side on the motherboard. The connectors are too thick and block the adjacent SATA connectors. If you plan to use them you will need to space them apart or hope your SATA connectors are farther apart. Startech usually puts out great quality stuff.

I installed the cable onto the back of my new hard drive and I installed the cover and back glass on my PC. The next day I noticed my drive was performing as well as it had in the past. It turns out that when I installed the side cover it bent the sata cable which then bent the pins on my new hard drive. I bought a new drive and different sata cables that don't stick out as far and are more flexible. Buyer beware.

Great SATA cables, been using them for a couple of years. Good quality. Makes it easy to route inside the case, much easier than ribbon cables. They used to have greater variety of lengths and plug angles. Not anymore, only straight ends and 2 lengths available. Bring the rest out for sale. It's a great design and they work well, no problems ever.

El problema, en mi caso, es que el cable es demasiado rígido, y para usarlo en una torre mini ITX como es mi caso no sirve, ya que le da al ventilador del disipador y no puedo doblarlo para evitar que toque

SSDの口金が折れた！ これケーブルが固いんだね。他の方も書かれていたけど、まさか～と思って気にしてなかった。 組込の時にSSDをクイッと位置を反転させたら……『パキッ』だって（笑）。 これは衝撃だわ。ビックリ。 対処策としては、事前にケーブルの首あたりをクネクネと曲げて柔らかくしておくことかな？ 僕は偶然、SSDと電源＆SATAの接続部分にテープを貼って補強していた。 なので、折れたけど千切れなかったので今のところ普通に使えています。 恐らくテープの粘着力が無くなったら千切れて終わり。 皆さんもお気をつけ下さい。 こんなの生まれて初めて。

These are pricey but good quality. I've bought quite a few and had no data-related problems at all. They're so nice for improving airflow and reducing the weird twists and bends you always get with flat-style SATA cables. However, I docked one star because the round part of the connector right where the cable goes in is absurdly, needlessly bulky. You cannot fit two of these into a typical stacked pair of SATA ports (like you see on every motherboard and *also* on StarTech's own PCI-E SATA adapter cards) unless you carefully shave a flat spot on the top of top of one connector and the bottom of the other. You can take *at least* a full millimeter (probably much more) off of this solid plastic blob, but you need to use an extremely sharp knife/tool and EXTREME caution (it would be really easy to slip and cut yourself or damage the cable). I recommend removing the metal clip temporarily so you can shave away from the cable, preferably with a cutting board or something similar for backing. I debated docking 2 stars after writing those last two sentences (and factoring in the price), but these are really one of the best options I've found for round SATA cables in spite of the connector issue.
