Sewing would be best as Velcro sticks to each other vey well and constant pulling may cause it to pull away from glue. **Q: I need a roll of the 4" hook and loop velcro. You wrote 30", if thats the case by three foot. Let us know thanks **Q: How many pounds can this hold?** A: Need more input. Are you trying to hold something on a vertical surface? You would need to nail or screw the one side to the surface. It should hold up to 20 pounds, if the part on the surface you are attaching is just as thoroughly attached to the strip. In other words, the strength of the velcro is not in question, the surface you are sticking it to can have many variables, porous or non porous, metal, wood (treated or untreated), plastic, etc. Also consider the temperature where it is attached. You are going to have to experiment to know for sure. It's a little stiff but was perfect width for costume armbands *by C***R on August 13, 2019* I used this 4 inch hook and loop tape when making armbands for my granddaughter's costume. We needed a wide width that was hard to find locally. This 12 inch piece was more than enough since each band only needed a 4 inch length. The material is stiff and feels like plastic, but it's still flexible enough for the band. The hook and loop closure is VERY STRONG. So I made sure to sew the pieces onto the fabric using two rows for extra holding power.
