However, I have taken them out of the package and they extend smoothly, stay extended, the handles are a good size. The tines are not sharp, but I anticipate that they are fine enough to nicely pierce a marshmallow or hot dog without destroying it. The bag is roomy,and could be a sturdier fabric, but I think will do well enough. All in all, satisfied. Will revisit after use. I did not get skewers, but I don't really need them, so only docking a star because the product description lists them.Update 9/3: We've used these a handful of times, and they work great, but one of them broke when I was trying to clean marshmallow goo off of it. They are flimsier than I would expect for something advertised as 'luxury'. Love that they have a really nice case to carry them in, having double prongs helps with the little ones not losing their marshmallows in the fire. Nice long sticks, so no kiddies getting too close to the fire, but because they fold are nice and easy to store. We are not campers, but we use these in our home fire pit. I'm sure the compact length and the carrying case would be great for campers to take on any trip.
