They like it best from all the kinds I have tried (not the pellets-- crumbles only, they said). They each lay 1 egg per day. I always add calcium supplement (powder) to the food because I am anxious after having a couple egg-bound hens over the years.....I never lost a girl but I just know it was because I fed them too many treats and not enough calcium!! I vowed to never let it happen again so as a safeguard I just add powdered calcium to every bag of food as I dump the bags into the big bin. It would be great if there were bigger bags-- the little bags are easy to carry down to the girls and they also ship fast/arrive quickly but I think the price is really high (as compared to other organic layer crumbles) and the bags are very small by comparison (unfortunately). SO: When I am being organized, I mix this food that they prefer with an equally nutritious LARGE bag of organic layer crumbles (adding powdered calcium, of course).
