An easy and effective way to replace garbage disposal rubber flaps.
I was dreading having to disconnect my garbage disposal to replace the little rubber part of the garbage disposal drain. This is a great solution. I cut off the few rubber flaps that were still on and slipped this down into the drain hole. It fit perfectly, works great, and was an easy fix. I highly recommend you use this easy fix.

Easy Install, Perfect Fit
This Garbage Disposal Splash Guard Collar Sink Baffle was the perfect fit and replacement for our sink. The one that came with our garbage disposal was terrible. It had these tiny little slits that got rice and little bits of food stuck, and the only way to get things to go down was to shove them down with your hands or a utensil...neither of which are safe. I watched a quick video, but just put on a glove, pull up on the rubber of your current splash guard and carefully insert this one in its place. I'm not even sure it took 30 seconds.

IMO
We swapped this one with factory one. It lets the food scrapes pass through easier than the one that comes with the disposal..

Good Replacement
Our garbage disposal has been running reliably for decades, but over time, the rubber drain insert has deteriorated. This replacement insert fits the drain perfectly. This is the second one we have ordered to replace the original baffle. The first replacement baffle lasted about 10 years. I don’t expect this one to last as long because the rubber does not seem as thick as the rubber of the first replacement.

Splash guard gave satisfactory service for 12 years - new design is slightly different and better!
The new design is better than the old design! With the new splash guard design, there is not as much need to push food through the guard manually -- just turning on the faucet flushes food into the disposal. I bought this InSinkErator splash guard in 2011 and am replacing it in 2024. After twelve years the 2011 guard still has a decent combination of flexibility and stiffness. Although it shows no tears, it seemed to need cleaning more often than when new. Perhaps the surface became micro-rough but this was not perceptible to my fingertips. So I just ordered it again with desire that the quality remain as good. These are the changes I find: The weight dropped from 1.1 ounces to 0.9 ounces. The height of the cone changed from 40 mm to 34 mm. The new cone is much reduced in stiffness. The mouth of the new guard has a bit simpler shape without as many folds in the rubber. Will the new design work? Yes! The differences I found do not seem to significantly affect the function of stopping splash back. My guess is the new model will not last as long as the old. The price I paid in 2011 was almost twice what the new one cost me in 2024 so I am not complaining about the value received. My old InSinkErator goat mouth still looks presentable so I plan to keep it awhile in the cabinet under the sink just in case the new goat mouth causes trouble.

Perfect replacement!
It's perfect! It's the same as the one that came with our GD (Evolution Septic Assist). Yes the "initial" opening is small - but it helps prevent unwanted items from slipping into the GD and it prevents "backsplash" from the grinding going on in the disposal chamber when turned on. It installs easily and is easily removed for cleaning (yes, it definitely needs to be cleaned occasionally!) To get food into the GD chamber, simply push it if it's too big to slip through - you don't have to push it all the way into the chamber. When the food is being pushed in, the baffle easily opens up - it expands to a much larger hole - so the food goes in but the utensil used to push does not (use a utensil, not your hand!) If you're concerned about safety, then push the stuff down b/f you turn it on (or, better yet, get a Batch disposal - but that's a different GD.) Regarding water drainage - if you turn on the disposal it quickly sucks all the water out. It isn't that bad, though, water does drain pretty well when the disposal chamber is empty.

Slow draining.
These fit well and prevent spash back from the garbage disposal, as well as prevent items from falling into it. Sounds perfect, they also heavily restrict water flow into the drain which can be frustrating.
