Do you remove the overload spring to use this (2012 Frontier 4wd)

No it goes between overload and first leaf

Can this aal sit on the spring perch without the overload spring? i have a 2nd gen nissan frontier. it just sits a little higher than expected.

Thank you for messaging us. Our add a leaf kits can sit on the axle without an overload spring as long as you are not towing or taking your truck off-roading on a frequent basis. The overload spring acts as a bump stop and can keep your add a leaf from bowing the wrong direction. I would recommend letting the leaf spring settle for about week before removing the overload spring, but if you know what you're doing in regards to the installation, you are more than welcome to remove the overload spring to give yourself the extra .5"-.75" (thickness of the overload spring) of room to level out your truck.
