Naruto Set 1 (BD)

Yes, this is not truly HD, but is instead an upscale. The source material itself was authored in 4:3 SD, intended for broadcast via traditional TV service. The upscaling seems to have been done well, with combing artifacts being vastly reduced compared to the original uncut DVDs. It would be interesting to compare this against the original broadcasts, but alas, I do not have my old DVR from 2005 to perform such a comparison. That said, if you are looking for the highest quality possible for the original Naruto series, this set is probably the best option.

I love how this got on blu-ray but still has the original square viewing 🙈 It's nostalgic and finally able to watch without any commercial or whatsoever interrupting while watching

Came like expected

I am so happy Viz Media finally released this on blu-ray. Its the only way i want to watch this show. Of course, i'd rather have all the blu-ray sets in one purchase, but i know they will gradually be released. I watch the DVDs religiously and it was always such a struggle given it was in SD format. It just wasn't as crystal clear sharp as i wanted it to be. This HD remaster is great and looks beautiful, and will probably be as beautiful as the Naurto show will ever look. The show follows the adventures of Naurto as he navigates ninja school with his friends Sakura and Susuke. As the show progresses, new characters are introduced. The dubbing is TOP NOTCH. However, not sure why Viz Media keeps using female voice actors to voice male leads, but i digress. The video is in its original 4:3 aspect ratio as it originally aired on TV. The box cover says 16x9 widescreen HD and its a big typo. Talk about quality control. Viz Media, tisk, tisk! This show aired in the early 2000s, so don't expect to be blown away by the HD remaster. It is very subtle, but noticeable. Things are definitely sharper and the colors a bit brighter. Not a WOW FACTOR as you would get from a 1990s anime show remastered in HD. However, check out my pics and i hope it helps. Also, pick up this set and SUPPORT THEM!!! Christmas came early. Thanks, VIZ!!!

Anyone who knows anything about anime has heard of Naruto. I’m just now starting to watch it because I just haven’t had time to devote to a long series. Well so far it’s been pretty cool. The atmosphere definitely has a retro anime feel to it that in my opinion is a good thing that you just don’t get with modern anime. It’s just a fun show to sit down and enjoy. It can be slow at times with drawn out scenes and the beginning of episodes sometimes overlap a little too much when you are watching it straight through, but all in all I’ve enjoyed it and look forward to continuing the series.

Just perfect so Crisp clear just talking to someone that has the original naruto the Blu-ray if you ain’t Got the original disc best time to get into naruto with this Blu-ray

Great quality and condition

It’s region locked (A) so if you are from the U.K. and want to watch it on a PS- or XBOX that you have bought from the U.K. you are out of luck. Very disappointed was looking forward to watching it but would have to spend £50+ on a blu ray player and then hope I’d be able unlock it somehow. Will be returning this product.

Ordered New, did not come with a sleeve (meanwhile every other set I bought did) and the case itself was cracked. Case also did not hold in place 2 discs.
