Works for low power loads...
I have been using the cable to drive a Gearmo USB to 4-port Serial adapter which draws 0.135A. The overall draw is 0.245A, so the cable's repeater uses 0.11A The cable is getting 4.97V from my computer and it is sending 4.45V to the Gearmo after 50' of cable. First 25' carries 0.245A drops 0.335V R=1.37 Second 25' carries 0.135A drops 0.185V R=1.37 Total voltage drop 0.52V total R=2.74 Basically the repeater takes 0.15V and the load gets what remains after 2.74Ohm drop. If you have 0.2A load and 5.0V supply that works out to: 5.0 - 0.15 - 0.2*2.74 = 4.3V USB2.0 specifies minimum of 4.4V, so a 2A load is a bit much. Max current available is 0.164A assuming perfect 5.0 power. With my 4.97V source, max is 0.153A. YMMV BTW, all measurements taken with DROK USB 2.0 Digital Multimeter, Ammeter Voltmeter Capacitance and Watt Meter, 7 Modes Multi Tester which I highly recommend. EDIT: these tests only concern power capability so I added some data tests as well by connecting the fastest USB stick on my desk and comparing direct connect speed vs cable connected speed. My memory stick was ~25MB/sec read and ~5MB/sec write, which is only about half the USB 2.0 specification. I found that write speed was identical, and read speed degraded ~1% when using the cable. Good stuff!

I use it to extend my USB device connection to my backyard.
It work, and meet my expectation. I use it to extend my USB connection to my backyard. It is reliable. I add a powered hub at the end, so I can use it to drive multiple USB device by the single cable. This is a long cable; therefore, you will need a cable reel or cord wrap to store this cable.

you need a powered hub with these
Folks, I have solved how to make these cords work. I am running a usb network adapter 75' and its working great. You will need to have a 120v powered hub. Plug the adapter (or usb device) into one of the hub slots and plug the usb that usually goes to the computer into the female end of 75' cable. Plug other end of cable into computer and you have it. The idea is to have the hub powering your usb device as a long cord has too much voltage drop without the hub. (I tried making a cat6/usb hybrid cable and it didn't work.)

Cheap but it works
Cheap but it works. Be careful with it as to not to tear it if you are running it over drop ceiling and between walls. It is not the best of quality. Again, it did work for me so it should work for you

Not for HD Webcams
This cable works well for low bandwidth equipment such as mouse, keyboard, flash memory, etc .... However, if your need is to stream HD content and you actually need the 480Mbps, this isn't for you. I use the cable for a Logitech HD PRO Webcam C920 1080P and the video stream often freezes or breaks. Although, the cable didn't work as advertised, I'm not returning it because it would be to much work to get it out of my wall. Also, the repeater is not in the middle of the cable as shown in the picture but in the female connector enclosure. This is probably the reason why the signal gets too weak and lost in the return from the computer to the camera, ultimately resulting in the broken connection with the device.

Suits me perfectly.
This is wonderful. I have computer connected to my movie projector in my living room and I also have a another computer in my bedroom. The computer in my bedroom has all my External harddrives connected to it. I hate moving my hard drives from one room to the next, so the logical thing to do was invest in a usb Extension cord. Now I don't have to move my hard drives. I just ran the wire from my bedroom to the living room and connected to my computer in the living room. Now I can watch my saved sports highlights, movies, tv shows .......whatever. Without even moving my hard drives anymore. This was an extremely great investment.

Worked for me.
I installed a security camera system and I needed to have the mouse in a different room from where the NVR is located. I used this USB cable extension and it worked fine. Now I can sit in a different room and control the NVR.

I was sceptical about this product since I have had bad experiences with (shorter) active USB extensions. However, the pricing as opposed to more expensive USB over CAT solutions made me give it a try. AND It works flawlessly!
