Installing or adjusting a dish is not difficult but you needs this otherwise you will be on the phone with someone trying to get the signals to be their best. this allows you to dial in the signal for optimum strength. Easy enough to use and no need to have a second person on the roof while another person watches the signal meters on the tv.

I'm a satellite engineer. I bought this thinking it might be a decent quick and dirty tool to align DBS dishes (eg directTV). This was completely useless.. The needle bounces around aimlessly regardless of if signal is received or not. I've used signal finders that work, this doesn't You are better off just using your sat receiver signal strength page... This thing was inexpensive but still don't waste your money.
