Review: Nice life story Leonardo de Vinci - Excellent!!!! Review: GREAT BOOK - These "who are books" are a great way to get young readers excited about reading and learning about historical figures at the same time. They also open the door to discuss other things occurring at the same time (ie the powerful families at the time, the type of art created during this time etc...). My granddaughter loved reading this (she is 7) and I actually learned a few things myself (although no one was more surprised about this then myself ha). I would highly recommend this book

Great for Kids!
I really like this book. It's easy to read and full of details. The information on Leonardo is interesting for kids as well as adults. The art work along the way is great too to keep the history interesting. The book is made to understand Leonardo from his loveless childhood to his self views of failing as an adult. I felt the story motivates and also encourages children to know that failure often means a way to success and to explore and do what you love, is a life worth living.

Great for reluctant readers
My 12-year-old hates reading on his own with a passion. So when he had to do a biogragphy on Leonardo for school, we both dreaded the process. He got a book from the school library and tried to wade through it, but he wasn't getting much usable information out of it because it was too long and complicated. I ordered this book four days before his assignment was due as a last desperate measure. Boy were we glad I did! This book was wonderful for my reluctant reader. It was informative but not overwhelming for a child who doesn't like to read. The basic information on Leonardo was enhanced with illustrations, timelines and information boxes on the Renaissance. I would highly recommend this book.

Perfect for our 9-year-old
We bought this book for our son to be able to use it for a book report. He was able read the whole thing within a few days of diligent reading. (Parents were able to read it too so we could ask him questions.) He was able to do a written book report and n an oral report. The teacher sent his oral report was the best in the class.

Daughter forgot books at school and I bought this in a pinch. Great story too.
How great is it to just go to your phone and download a good kids book when you little one forgets to bring home their nightly reading from school? Can not beat the convenience. Oh, and the biographical books are very entertaining an informative. After reading this one, my 10 year old wanted to go online and look the paintings. High quality images of the paintings were not included, just drawings of them.

Great for the classroom
I used this book for students to study a person in history to write a report on. This was for a 4th grade classroom. Each student read the novel on their own and filled out a novel study that I created for non-fiction books. Students were able to follow the book with ease and understand what they were reading. There were several pictures to aid in understanding. There is also a timeline that helps students understand the timeline of events as they read. Very great resource.

Excellent for young nonfiction lovers
My 8 year old loves these books so much, weāve worked most of our homeschooling around them. Itās very common for boys to be more interested in non-fiction titles so Iām very happy to have these books for him. They are a very quick read so he averages two a day but heās also a bookworm. We have our own little library of this series at home and canāt wait for more titles!

I love this series! They are great, easy-to-read, fact based biographies that my children have grown up with. Sacagawea was our first book because of my daughter's obsession and from there we moved to other strong historical women, such as Helen Keller and Amelia Earhart. Then we would find subjects to correspond with whatever my kids were studying at school. Really, really recommend this series!!!
