They come in one plastic bag but they weren't chipped at all. The spiral flute makes them aggressive when drilling. If not using a drill press be sure to brace the drill well because it will want to torque you and pull into the material. Other reviews mentioned that and they're not joking. But if you brace yourself well and drill in short bursts, preferably using cutting oil when drilling metals of course, you can cut pretty good holes.As usual with step drill bits if the material is not thin (under 1.5mm thick) the whole won't have a smooth vertical surface, you'll see a step.
