Cheap Gimmick
This is cheap plastic that does nothing. My 6 year old grandson really wanted this because of the television series. The “fork” broke off the first day. We repaired and it broke again. He is so disappointed.

Arrived exactly as described by the seller
Although the product arrived in the white and orange colorscheme, as manufactured. I wanted to artistically alter the appearance of the accessory. So that it better matched the prop from the “Mandolorian” television series. The photo attached is the first layer of painted draft would This effort was performed using appropriate latex based paints to achieve a color match, to the best of my ability.

Pretty cool when painted!
I was worried about all the bad reviews as well. But my son really wanted a Mandalorian rifle and there is nothing out there! People sell stuff on Etsy for well over $100, but that more than I want to spend. Anyway, when I saw the review where he painted it I thought I would get this ugly orange and white gun and try painting it too. The gun did come a little dirty, but I washed it with an SOS pad. I let it dry completely. I sanded it down with some fine sand paper so that the paint would stay on better. I wiped it down again. Then I used black, gold, brown and silver spray paint that you would use on a model airplane (you can find some spray paint like this at any Hobby Store.) I spray painted the gun. I used painters tape to cover up the areas I needed to as I went. Be sure to wait a day or two before you put painters tape on the areas you already painted or it will come off. The pieces were difficult to put together. I didn't think they would fit either, but I held the gun vertically and wiggled it around a bit and it snapped right in for a very secure fit. I had to cut the strap off to paint the gun and when I went to put it back on I realized how cheap the strap was, so replaced it with a yard and a half of better quality strapping I found in the ribbon section at Hobby Lobby. I was actually pretty surprised with how cool looking it turned out!! I'm not sure how long it will last as my son plays with it, after all it is cheap plastic. But he's going to love it! Thanks to the pervious reviewer for the tips on painting it!

Poor Quality
Unfortunately the pieces didn’t go well together so assembly was an issue. We worked it out but it wasn’t ideal. Then it was worn for about 2 hours and the strap came off. We used tape to get it back on and within 20 minutes of that fix the front just fell off right where it attaches. It broke right where it didn’t fit well to begin with. So now we are attempting another fix with tape. I realized it wasn’t a sturdy item when I was buying it, but this downright fragile. If I can’t touch the thing without it falling apart it is utterly useless. Hopefully nothing else will fall off, crack, or break. It needs to last for a couple more hours while worn on the back and then for a picture shoot. Frustrating!

Overpriced
You’re paying for the Star Wars name. This gun is cheaply made and it is immediately obvious. It’s dirty, paint is thin, the strap was put on wrong. If it functioned it may be worth the price, but it literally is just for looks, but the looks are lacking

Great for a Kid Size Cosplay Prop
I got this to make a really cool Cosplay prop for my 8 year old son. We watch The Mandalorian together and really enjoy the show a lot. It’s getting a make over. I can’t wait to make it look like a mini movie production prop he can hang on his wall.

Look the part but plastic material is pretty weak and hard for a 3 year old to manage.
We bought 2- for our 6 and 3 year old. While they initially loved it, not a great value for $30 per item. The plastic is very flimsy and easily breaks (day 1- but part of that is we have boys). They are also just hard to manage for the younger ages. Our older boys 9/11 can handle them much better. Overall, they look cool, but didn’t work great for our 3 year old. Combined with how we felt like we were always having to be careful not to break them (with 4 boys, that’s impossible). Hope this is helpful!

Nice gun
Purchased for 12yr old Star Wars fan. The top of the gun comes off to look more like a gun. Sturdy construction. Great gift for the young Mandalorian fan.

Bought it for Black Friday and repainted it to look more realistic so I can use it as a prop for events. Pretty good deal, easy to put together and the proportions are right for me (gun is 1 meter, I'm 1,65m). Would recommend for fans and kids alike!
