FlyBoys Classic Kneeboard for Pilots – Leg Strap, Flexible Clipboard, Eyelet Strip – General Aviation & EFB Compatible – Bue

Very well made out of sturdy materials. At 6'2" as passenger in a Cessna 150, room is precious. This worked well for keeping notes and reviewing maps while doing aerial telemetry searches. Adding 2 metal rings, and a zippered pouch designed for a similarly sized 3-ring binder worked well for keeping extra notes and pens and pencils. The wide leg band was comfortable and secure on my large leg. It would grip a smaller leg well too. The velcro flap pocket is handy for spare AA batteries for my handheld GPS. The long slash pocket on the right was handy for a quick reference printed map. The pen holder barely accomodated my large Sharpie pen (about 7/16" / 1 cm diameter). The notepad clip's raised center worked well as a place to clip my pen. The clip securely held my 5" x 8" notepad. The thick vinyl strap with velcro was nice to secure a folded note under my notepad. Two patches of scratchy hook closure ("Velcro" rough side) on the underside seem designed to keep it neatly folded when not being worn. Fine on my duck pants, but would be uncomfortable wearing shorts. A couple of pieces of loop velcro, or fabric that sticks to the hook patches would alleviate that discomfort. I don't think the velcro deserves dinging a star. It is nice for storage.

Arrived fast, as described. Like the size in the cockpit. Had battle board which really like also it just got in the way of the yoke. This one is small, just what I wanted

Great product, this knee board is an upgrade over my previous one as it is flexible enough that I can position it so it doesn't interfere with my Cherokee's bowtie yoke. The pocket is a good place for keeping the key, the pen holder is a great location and doesn't interfere with the controls yet is easy access . The strap is handy for keeping charts and checklists in place while walking around and probably the best discovery was that when paired with a pair of Duluth Firehose cargo pants the Velcro is in a perfect location so the Velcro on the back of the knee board sticks to the Velcro for the flap of the cargo pocket on the pants and you can walk around, fuel up, and probably do jumping jacks without the knee board falling down to your ankle.

It would have been nice if it had come with a notepad to write on. It looked like it had one but it was just a single sheet masquerading as a notepad!

This is a great kneeboard. As they say in many classes for first responders “if you didn’t write it down, it didn’t happen”. I bought this for a wilderness medical pack to keep soap notes on. The clipboard is not completely rigid and has some bend but not enough to be problematic. I love the pen holders for keeping items together while moving around. The little pouch even holds a pulse oximeter nicely. I would not wear this while on a hike but if someone gets injured you can put this on, keep your notes and pens handy, and still get up and move around your patient.

Purchased this for IFR training and flight. I previously used the sporty's knee board and love this for IFR flying. This allows me to keep my approach plates, notes, and IFR checklist available. I actually cut off the clear plastic strap, they should make this removable with velcro. My approach plates are in clear plastic protectors attached the the binder ring holes. My IFR flight plan and notes sheet is kept attached to the clip board, and I tuck my IFR checklist into the right side pocket. I used 1/2 sheet clear protectors (not the ones specifically made for this). The holes do NOT align properly, but if you use 1" binder rings, you can easily attach the top and bottom holes in the knee board to the top and bottom holes in the 1/2 sheet clear protectors. The velco pocket is very small, but I keep a set of extra batteries in there for my headset, not sure what else you would put in there. Overall very happy with the purchase and would recommend!!!

I have been a long time GA pilot. I have used many knee boards and this is SO much better. Very well designed from the pencil placement to the checklist access. Also, it is very secure and doesn’t shift on your leg. Highly recommended. Big improvement!

Apt product, functional and well designed.

It doesnt appear to be reversable and as the pens stick up difficult to use as a left hander in a cockpit the pens get in the way, average quality, overpriced for what it is. I would try another brand.
