I had also gotten the Simthread 42 thread pack and they had some tear away stabilizer in there for free. But that isn't as good quality as this and a little bit clumpy in parts. This is nice and smooth. Stays exactly where you need it too and tears beautifully when you are done with your project. My only request is that they make an 8"x9" because this just doesn't fit my hoop long ways the greatest. I was able to get it too. But that was a bit of a pain to get it directly centered and tight enough. Review: Works great in the hoop and when sewing decorative stitches - This is a great tear away stabilizer. It is thick enough that it doesn't tear while stitching yet easy enough to tear away quickly. From the front single layer or overlapped looks the same. The feet are down. Why is the stabilizer shredding?** A: Because you are using tearaway stabilizer. Is this a denser design? Tear away is great for hand stitching and light stitching. "Redwork", etc. However, on more detailed and denser designs (especially the compact ones), you end up sewing yourself holes in the stabilizer and it no longer does its job. I had a lot of issues with this until I found out what was going on. I never have that problem with cut away stabilizer, which is better for garments and holds up better in the wash, too. I very rarely use tearaway because of this issue. **Q: How do you use it? Is it iron-on?** A: No, it is not an iron-on. I thought I could use it in my 5x7 hoop, but it's too small. It's large for the 4x4 hoop, so there's a lot of waste. I actually pieced it together with a zigzag stitch and used it in the 5x7 hoop and it worked.
