Not too big of a deal because of where the slat is located, but hopefully it doesn't happen anywhere else.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Review After 2 Weeks of Ownership:Despite having only owned this bedframe for 2 weeks now, I will go ahead and make a review of the assembly and how it feels and the perceived sturdiness as of this point, I may update this review eventually, but if there is no update, assume that nothing has changed and the bedframe is still intact.First, I'll mention the assembly.Assembling the bedframe isn't too difficult, and I'd imagine it would be fairly easy with multiple people at your disposal, but it wasn't too bad for one person. The instructions are lacking, but nothing that anyone couldn't figure out. Also, if you go to count the screws in the package and you're wondering why you're missing 3, it's because they are pre-screwed into the three middle leg pieces. The pieces are ridiculously heavy individually, but the box itself is pretty heavy and awkwardly long. Assembly is simple. Attach the four bars using plastic corner pieces, then take metal braces and screw them to each corner, and then attach the legs to the four corners, then attach the middle bar, then attach the middle legs. The wood slat assembly is annoying and time consuming, but not hard. Just fit the single end onto one end of a wood slat, attach the other end into a two-sided plastic piece, and then another slat to that and the one sided plastic piece to that side, same as in the beginning. Then take a hammer (rubber mallet would be safer) and tap the plastic prongs into their holes in the three metal frame pieces. Voila, you're finished.Personally, I found the frame to be a little low to the floor, so I went and purchased two sets of four 5" bed risers to raise it up, and now it's a tad high, but much better than being something like 10 inches from the floor. It feels pretty sturdy, but if you look under it while you or someone else is leaning on one knee on it or putting a lot of weight on a small point, the slats look like they would break fairly easily, so I would be a little cautious with how you handle yourself and others on the bed afterwards. The mattress will help disperse the weight semi-evenly, but it can only do so much. I have not conducted any "activities" on this bedframe yet, but I'm sure that unless you're going for some serious gold, you should be just fine.This bedframe relieves the need for a box spring or platform under a mattress, which is great, and in turn, means there is essentially no noise whatsoever. I have noticed no squeaking or noise of any kind getting on, off or general movement around and on the bed, so it is ceraintly more silent than the other options.All in all, I would just advise caution to those with "active" lifestyles that go for gold on a frequent basis, because the wooden slats could likely break under some serious action. Also just be generally aware of not putting a lot of weight in a single spot. Otherwise, the bedframe is nice and quiet, pretty easy to assemble and works like a charm so far. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars great item, clarification on some popular dicussion topics *by J***I on Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2012* the frame is great and easy to put together. rather than reiterate the common comments i will focus on the errors that show in recent reviews.Pros: pretty much every other review says is correct; no squeaks, sturdy, easy assembly, value, does not slide around (no wheels), etc. also they delivered it in a week (ignore the long shipping dates, at least in the southwest).Cons: it does not likely disassemble easily. you can remove the legs but the frame would be hard to disassemble. the plastic connectors for the wood slats to the frame are kinda cheap. i have not read any reviews that say any broke.Misconceptions and errors in other reviews:1. the legs are strong and align perfectly. any issues with legs or frame are likely the result of poor assembly techniques.2. a mallet is better than a hammer, but a hammer works just fine; you do not need a mallet.3. it should take an average person only 60 minutes to assemble by themselves and go back around to recheck and tighten all fasteners. this time based on using the tools provided, not a power driver. the instructions are very clear and concise. it should not take 2 people 90 minutes to assemble.4. the curved corner pieces are for decoration and finish, they have no structural value at all so being plastic is not an issue.5. there was no varnish odor at all.as noted most of the other reviews are very accurate and helpful. it's a really good product and a great value.July 31st 2013 updatei can hardly believe i have had this for a year. i do wish is was a little lower to the ground but i have never had a better bed frame. now 5 stars.May 22nd 2014 updatei now use an inflatable TPU mattress on this and it works great. it's a thin version, like 6 inches deep and i don't touch the frame slates at all. i would never go back to an old style frame and/or box spring.Dec 2014 updateI moved from SoCal to Hawaii (tough, i know) and this moved with me. Movers took the legs off and left the rest assembled. Went back together and still solid, no squeeks.
