Chi's Sweet Home, volume 5

Being introduced to the anime by a friend, I decided to also give the manga a try. I had already bought the other 4 issues, and loved them! This one is no different. Chi's cute antics are sure to put a smile on any cat owner, as they will recognize Chi's behavior and compare it to their cat. Konami Kanata shows her understanding of cat's behavior and thought process through this work, and man is it cute! My only gripe is the translation. Having seen the anime's translation, I know what the characters are really saying, and the manga will take their words and twist them a bit too far at times. However, if you know what their really saying, this is easy to ignore. I highly recommend this to any cat lover. KAWAII!

The books are in full color and the chapters are kept short, so it's like reading the weekend comics from the newspaper! The only thing I didn't like was that the book was 'flopped', meaning it's been reprinted from it's right to left format (Japanese) to a left to right one (English). It however, doesn't bother me enough that I wouldn't buy the next volume!

This book is AMAZING!!!!! I recommend it to anyone who loves cats, comedy, and amazingly sweet and endearing books (and has read previously the books earlier in this series)! This book is worth every penny! It is WOW! this is a purchase you will NOT regret! （＾∇＾） BUY IT ALREADY!!!!

My kids are really interested in manga but most of it is not appropriate for kids. At least not young children. Most of the people are scantily clad. This is a great into to manga and is sweet.

My son, age 10, loves this series. I picked up the first one, and he's now wanting all of them. A sweet little graphic novel.

I am a fan of this series as a whole and brought this volume to fill a gap in my collection. If you are new to the Chi books I'd obvious recommend starting from the beginning - the series is a brilliant 'slice of life' style tale from the eyes of a young kitten seperated from her family. The stories are very sweet, the art has been loving produced using traditional water-colours and the limited text makes these books charming for both children and adults a-like. On the other hand, if you are a returning fan wondering why you should buy this volume in particular well it definitely contains a pivotal moment in the Chi series. Without spoiling too much, Chi is reunited with a character previously thought to be gone from the series and that moment in particular was touching enough to make the book worthwhile. A really enjoyable read overall.

Best graphic novel, cute stories, beautiful drawings for adults and kids!

Chi's Sweet Home is a brilliant series of books that I first discovered while in Japan! I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes funny manga stories like Yotsuba! or Azumanga Daioh.

More of the same and that's a good thing. The quality of this series continues and expectations are met. Chis is still getting used to her new home and now she ventures off out into the world from this new home for the first time. Rather than cute, funny episodes; this time Chi has some shocks, scares and wonders at new unusual things as she gets used to the world around her. Not laugh out loud funny this time but more endearing as we react to Chi's feline nature and reactions to the human world. I'm also enjoying the peak inside daily Japanese family life as well. Chi gets to know new friends better and meets up with an old one. Lovely, series that will surely last as a classic.
