CATAN 25th Anniversary Edition

Played Catan with my friends a few times and bought one for my home so they didn't have to carry it around. Went with the 25th Anniversary Edition since it was available, and no disappointments here! Nothing fancy, but comes with the expansion, helpers, card sleeves and card holder (very useful) in a nicely thought out container. Fun game with friends and family!

After reading numerous reviews by other customers stating that they had received knockoff copies of the game with shoddy craftsmanship and missing components, the first thing I did was count out my pieces to make sure everything added up correctly and that the quality was good. Thankfully it appears that I did receive an authentic set, as I have the correct numbers of pieces that the manual states I should have, and the workmanship on everything seems relatively on par (one or two of my houses look a little lopsided but I don't care). My copy of the game was sold and shipped by Amazon specifically, so circumventing a third-party seller is likely what ensured I got what I wanted. I'm excited to play! (For what it's worth, at the time of this review, I'm seeing that it's actually a few dollars cheaper to buy the original base game and 5-6 player expansion separately if others are keen on getting the best deal possible. I've never played with the 'Helpers' scenario so I have no idea if it's worth the premium).

What a great game! Great for friends and families to have fun. You need strategy and skill to win.

I played this game for the first time with my brothers (in their 40s) last weekend and played it with my 6 and 8 year old children today, making it fun for so many ages! The 25th anniversary addition is superbly constructed and came with card protectors to keep the game in great condition for many years of continued fun.

These version comes with both game + extension, great for 6players. additional it comes with a set of helpers, and even with card sleeves for their protection. It’s very complete and very good quality! I loved this version!

The 25th Anniversary pack is the best! It has both the standard and expansion kit in one box and makes it so easy to keep together. Also LOVE the players cards it comes with. It adds such a fun layer to an already great game.

Better than expected

The game is great fun. The set is a bit pricey, but it comes with the 5-6 player expansion. What is great about this kit is that it comes with a water mark on the expansion pieces making it easy to setup correctly and it comes with two complete sets of resource cards and marker making it just as easy to separate the two layouts. I ended up buying their cars management system, and building resource hex storage systems, as well as their dice roller system, so in the end, the few extras provided in the box were useless to me. It also came with card protectors and storage bags for everything.

Bought 25th anniversary edition in black friday sale. The set is very well made, the pieces and tiles look and feel so nice in front of you. The hexes fit together very well, the box is very well laid out, easy to take to parties, contains everything needed for 3-6 players. If you havent got Catan yet this is the version to get, especially if you can get it for £50 or less like I did. :)

Delivery was amazingly quick. This Settlers of Catan 25th anniversary edition is beautiful. Updated art and high quality wooden painted pieces. What I love most about this set is the included plastic card protective sleeves! This also comes with an additional scenario to change up the game rules a little bit, Helpers of Catan. Everything was brand new in the box. The only minor issue was that the tray that held all the pieces in the box was slightly cracked. I am glad I found this edition for this price as it is a little more expensive on Catan's official site. It seemed especially expensive ordering from Canada, 39.99 shipping fees. 5 star for this overall experience.
