This notebook was exactly as I expected it to be, on par with all five star notebooks. I was able to pick this one up for just a couple dollars, a great deal. The five star notebooks are a great larger size, with a strong and solid cover that won't easily tear or come off. The paper is always of the best quality. Five star is easily the best brand of notebooks that I have ever used. They are my go to, and this one was equally as good. I was thrilled to find it marked down so low, and I think the solid white cover looks sleek and stylish. Very happy with it, great buy.

Great notebook with a very study cover. Perfect for my teenager who loves to just shove them in his backpack!

Pretty blue plastic front cover appears to be water-resistant and substantial. Back cover is cardboard. Paper is quite thin, with a column of right-facing arrows next to the left red margin line. I don't know their purpose, just superfluous noise (is that related to the enigmatic "Study App" in the description?). There is a manilla page at the beginning, reinforced, with a handy pocket on each side. The wire holding everything together looks substantial enough. Compared to the bizarrely-priced "executive-Style" notebooks, this is a good deal, and I recommend it for perishable work. It's a notebook, not a repository of your most precious writing. Relatively inexpensive price elevated this to 4 stars.

This notebook has been great for writing with a fountain pen. I use a Pilot Kakuno, a Pilot Prera, and a few other similar pens with fine and extra fine nibs. For ink I use Pilot Namiki blue or black ink. These are not the wettest / juiciest pens and inks, so your mileage may vary with other combos. The ink does not feather or bleed through the page noticeably like other notebooks I've tried with lower quality paper. The ink also dries very quickly on this paper, as opposed to some of the higher-end fountain pen oriented paper I've tried. Those papers generally feel very nice to write on, but the Five Star paper feels decent. Overall, the notebook is well suited for note taking, where you want to write quickly and not worry about ink saturating the paper or smearing because it's not dry. Other than that, I like the layout of the pages and the fact that they have a plain layout that doesn't assume any particular use. The metal spiral does not easily unravel, which has been a problem for me in notebooks sometimes. I also like the sturdiness of the cover which is enforced by the folder in the front. I haven't tried the study app, but it seems like a good idea if it makes notes easier to scan and organize.

Three words: sturdy, beautiful, clean. I am in love with this notebook and honestly I can’t picture life without it. Dear notebook, I will never forget you.

Has a really nice back, the pages are a bit thin but as long as you use the right type of pen the ink doesn't go through.

back fell off of it and the paper holder things ripped lol. but i made it work. i also abuse my notebooks in my bag but whatever. i need a more durable one apparently. still works well and has lots of good quality paper
