The Jetsons: The Complete Original Series [Blu-ray]

I was skeptical about whether or not that this release would function on UK Blu-ray players. After purchasing and receiving the item, I can confirm that it does in fact work! Contains the first 24 episodes across three discs. Fantastic series! Highly recommended!

Ik vond deze serie altijd geweldig op cartoon network. Geweldig om de serie voor het eerst sinds jaren weer te kijken en nu in deze kwaliteit is helemaal een feestje. Is echter wel in het Engels met alleen Engelse ondertiteling dus niet geschikt als je geen Engels kan

Aunque en la portada dice que se trata de THE COMPLETE ORIGINAL SERIES, no tiene la serie completa solo LA PRIMERA TEMPORADA (24 capítulos) y omite la SEGUNDA y la TERCERA TEMPORADAS. Tampoco dice que el idioma es SOLO INGLÉS y, peor aún, los únicos subtítulos que tiene son en INGLÉS. Esta primera temporada cuesta el doble que la segunda y la tercera por lo que en lugar de comprar un paquete a buen precio es simplemente una estafa. En cuanto a la calidad de la digitalización y el audio son buenas, recordando que el formato no es el de cine sino el de las TV's de antaño, por lo que es un tanto irrelevante que esté en BluRay o en DVD. Si hablas inglés y no te importa pagar el doble del precio normal por la primera temporada entonces cómpralo, de otra manera mejor abstente.

24 bright, colorful, razor-sharp episodes that highlight every production technique (both good and bad). I never knew The Jetsons (and probably all Hanna-Barbera productions) used an animation technique similar to, and probably less sophisticated than, South Park Studios uses today. Most scenes are a sandwich of painted cells containing a motionless background, motionless body or torso, and minimally animated head and arms. About the only thing that actually changes from frame to frame is the mouth movements. There is evidence that only a few standard character angles were drawn and the component cells very carefully indexed for reuse whenever possible. In one episode, George's beard shadow changes color throughout his speech as cells from a different episode using a slightly different paint color were mixed and matched to synchronize the dialog. Contrivances as moving sidewalks, rolling chairs, and antigravity belts are used to minimize the number of cells needed to be drawn and painted. Some of the backgrounds are shockingly crude, solid neutral colors, or simple pastel sketches with minimal detail. And still, every minute of the program is a delight to watch. I never knew, growing up in the 60s and 70s, that I was watching the same 24 episodes produced for a single broadcast run in 1962. The program wears well even after 57 years. It has no unlikeable characters, doesn't take itself seriously, and doesn't pretend to be something it's not. I was impressed with the episode The Good Little Scouts, about a camping trip to the moon, because the facts it relayed about the destination (distance, temperature, gravity, atmosphere) were all correct (238K miles, ±200° F, 1/6 G, airless). It wasn't an "educational" episode so much as that people in the early 1960s knew they'd be going to the moon in a few years, and were looking forward to the journey. I have rarely been as pleased with any Blu-Ray I've purchased.
