Only thing that works .. because of the constant twirling , birds won’t land near it. Use bungy cords to extra secure it. I have it on boat subjected to some higher winds , no issue .

Poor value for the money. Effectiveness diminishes after several months of use. After several months, this device develops friction and does not spin as effectively as when new (requires higher wind to operate). We applied non-sticky marine-grade spray lubrication which did immediately help, but the improvement lasted for less than 24 hours. Also, after just 6-7 months of use, one of the flags came off and disappeared (likely falling into the water). Within three weeks after that, the other flag went missing. We used this on our boat while our boat is inside a slip within a protected harbor. Our average winds range from 1-9 kts. For such a high cost with intended marine use, one would expect this item to be much more resilient.

This works great. I put one unit on the back of my boat because the gulls loved to sit on the stern rail and poop on my swim platform or turn around and poop in my cockpit. The devise stopped that. Now the birds went to my bow rail and are pooping on my bow. I CANNOT WIN.

First the good news: they work! I have used these on my swim platform/jet ski dock in the Narraganset Bay for six summers. Without them, it turns into guano island. They keep gulls, terms and every other bird off. The bad news is they have a weak point on the plastic end of the vane. The small outcropping (or stop) (that keeps the flag in a small arc as the vane rotates and allows it to work in light breezes) breaks off. See photo. When this happens they will still rotate in a stiff wind but they won't rotate in lighter winds. The really annoying thing is you can't replace the broken part so you have to buy a new $45 vane when 90% of it works fine. It would nice if they made them more durable because they DO WORK. Update on 8/29/19: I have switched to the Gullsweeper brand which work just as well and are more durable.

I bought one I bought one my neighbor bought two all three of them plastic broke and they won't stay in place the design is fantastic but I think if it was made out of a little bit dirty or plastic it might be better I'm going to have to either rebuild it out of metal or stronger plastic great design too flimsy. In order for the prom in order for the product to actually spin the little red flags need to remain within their gated area Stead play cracked and flipped around the little gated area and now they both are pushing against each other and won't spin. Easier to show them easier to show it then it is to put it in words

I bought this product in December and installed on my pier around the end of April. It worked great at 1st, keeping birds away, and I was thrilled with the product. But after about 3 months, the plastic spinner flags cracked and the spin pole slips the notch and drops to the bottom of the base attachment. The repeller no longer spins to keeps bird away. I am very disappointed in the durability and quality of this product.

Worked great when I first put it on but by evening the wind had died and the 360 stopped rotating and as a result was ineffective.
