At the thickest part the diamond coated one is about 3.5mm and the steel one is about 3mm. At the tip they are both about 1.5mm. There's a few slight miss-shaped bits on 1 or 2 files but doesn't affect their performance overall. The small square file is not truly square and the triple square one also has varying angles but I wasn't expecting miracles at this price point. They perform well and I've used them to shape a piece of 1075 steel successfully. They have cut well and have not dulled. The included brush does a good job of cleaning them.
