The 2.4GHz antenna is a spring antenna, and there is no additional interface on the board for 2.4GHz wireless signals. Can ESP32’s WiFi and Bluetooth be used at the same time? No, the WiFi LoRa 32 don’t have an external PSRAM. What development methods does it support? Support Arduino, Micro Python, Platform.io, Espressif IDE We strongly recommend using Arduino. Meshtastic screen has a digital front-end issue? It’s caused by the meshtastic setting. Changing the default screen to SSD1306 can solve the problem. The specific steps are as follows “Radio configuration”→”Display”→”Override OLED auto-detect”→”SSD1306” Is V2 code compatible with V3? No, the MCU is different.

Review: Works great! Lives up to their reputation - I originally reviewed this product poorly due to suspected failed screens. Come to find out, that was a bug in the meshtastic firmware version that I loaded. Once I updated to the latest firmware, the problem was resolved. These are great little boards that work very well when running meshtastic. I'll probably buy more.
Review: Great Meshtastic units. No GPS, but I use these at a fixed location. - Really easy to set up and use. Perfect for experimenting with Meshtastic off-grid communications. Get these, become familiar with the system, then graduate to a Meshtastic device with GPS for when you want to travel around and let people see your location. Also, you can add a GPS to this device if you know how.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can I supply 5V to the battery terminals to power?**
A: Yes,operating voltage: 3.3V to 7V.

**Q: will this transmit serial data like from a total station to a data collector/ controlller? i want to make my rs232 serial cable set up wireless.**
A: There are some wireless serial examples included in the stock esp32 libraries.

**Q: Is there an included manual or instructions for programming?**
A: I don't remember any instructions being provided, However if you install the esp32 board libraries in arduino the examples for the Heltec boards are already included. Select your model of heltec board in arduino and then look for the examples.

**Q: Have any of you found a good breakout board to use with these? all the variation's in breakout boards and these being atypical esp32s...**
A: I used bread board. Just know the function of each pin. It's online.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good overall product with some inconsistencies
*by J***E on September 4, 2020*

These are HelTec Automation OLED WiFi Lora 32 V2 development boards which are sold by various different vendors on Amazon. I previously purchased three of these from another vendor. One malfunctioned such that it could only be used for non-WiFi applications (everything else worked fine) and the other two worked perfectly. The only material difference between those three and the two that I am reviewing here is that these two came with the pins assembled to the board whereas the three that I purchased previously I had to solder the pins on (not difficult except for the pins that are closest to the OLED flat cable). I much prefer these pre-assembled ones. As to the inconsistencies, I mentioned the WiFi malfunction on one of the previously purchased boards, and these two seem to have less sensitive LoRa receivers than the others. In my application, two of these transmit LoRa messages to a monitor application on the third. I can install any of the sketches on any of the three boards and everything works just fine; however, if I install the monitor sketch on either of the new ones, it only receives the messages from one of the remote boards (call it board A) until I bring it very close to the other remote board (call it board B). The RSSI that is reported by the monitor application running on the original boards is ~-85 for messages from board A and ~-112 for messages from board B. Interestingly, the RSSI indicated by the monitor application on the new boards is still ~-85 but the messages from board B don't show up until I get significantly closer to board B. (Sorry, I don't have an RSSI for when the messages start to show up.) Strange. If anyone reading this has any ideas, I'd be interested in feedback. Overall, I really like the feature set of these little boards and I do recommend them. I'm sure that by tweaking the LoRa spreading factor (I'm currently using the default 7) I'll be able to get all of them to receive everything.
