The LS2 Strobe modular full motorcycle helmet offers features you'd expect to find on helmets costing two to three times as much. This is a helmet designed by riders for riders. The full-metal latch system operates smoothly and offers a super secure closure for safety. It opens with a single button that's easy to find and easy to use, even with a heavy winter glove. DOT approved. Meets the FMVSS 218 Standard Review: Good value, excellent first helmet - I needed a helmet for my MSF basic class and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I've had it for two+ years now, and it's still comfortable. It is a bit noisy, but nothing distracting, and the air flow is minimal, especially on hot days. I added a wireless brake light to the back of the helmet to improve my visibility to other drivers. Overall, this is a great helmet for those just starting out in motorcycling, as I was. Review: Good Helmet at a great price - I have been riding motorcycles for over 30 years and have/had my fair share of helmets. i currently own 3 Modular, 1 fullface, 2 half and 1 3/4 helmet. Current Brands include Shoei, Schuberth, Nolan, KBC, HJC and now the LS2 I will focus on the modulars that I use and have used for this review. The LS2 is a very affordable Modular Helmet with a decent fit and finish and a very good price IMO. It does not have the paint quality of a Schuberth or Nolan but it is right there with HJC, KBC and surpasses many of the other lower end helmets. Modulars have a tendency to be a little noisier and heavier then fullface units and cheaper offerings trend to amplify that. Not so with this LS2, it is supprisingly quite for a modular in this price range, not as quite as the Schuberth C3 or a Shoei Neotech but right there with Nolan n90. I prefer the chin strap ratchet style mechanism over the D-Rings. Very similar to the Schuberth and Nolan Helmets. Helmet fitment is always an issue do to the many different head shapes. I'm more on the round side of head shapes and found the fit to be very good of the LS2, the venting is again on paar with most other brands and I have worn this Helmet in 95 degree weather when one always wishes for more airflow. The only real complaint I have about this Helmet is the Face Shield. Not the shield itself but the positive stops, it seems it only has 3 and could use at least a couple more.

My second motorcycle helmet.
This is the second motorcycle helmet I've owned. The first one, well, might have been a car racing helmet. It was a SNELL rated helmet I got to do Autocross, but when I got my endorsement 5 years ago, I wore it as my motorcycle helmet. Since I just got a new bike this year, I figured I'd upgrade my helmet. My first purchase was a Bell Revolution Evo helmet. I got a Large, and it fit pretty snug. The problem with that one was that I wear glasses and not contacts, and couldn't get my glasses to fit under the Bell one. Did more research, and found this one works. They even have a glasses patch sewn into the area where the frame arms go, to show you that this helmet is friendly with glasses. Not sure why they don't adversise it on this product page? Anyway, I'm happy with the helmet. Doesn't feel as solid as the Bell did, but I trust that if they say this is DOT approved, it should be safe. There are things I like, and things I'm less impressed with. First thing I noticed is the air flow from the vents is very minimal. You barely know you're getting fresh air, even at 45mph. And the chin air vent is kind of annoying. It's shoots right up your nose. It's a gentle breeze, not enough to really be distracting, but does feel odd. My first few rides so far have been while the outside temps have been below average during the summer. 65-73 degrees. So I've yet to ride in 90 degree temps yet. Kinda dreading it knowing how low the airflow is. The visor will fog up in the brisk morning commute at stoplights. But wasn't as bad as my previous helmet. But it never advertised that it was a "fog buster" visor. But again, with the low airflow of the helmet vents, it took a little longer than my previous one to defog. The other one was instant as soon as you started moving. This is my first ratchet strap helmet. While I like how it fits. It's easy to strap and unstrap, I kinda miss the old way because I actually had something to hold onto while carrying the helmet. The straps on these are short. I'm afraid I'm going to drop it while trying to grab the straps to put the helmet on. The chin flap is nice for the cooler rides. It kept my chin/neck from getting hit with the cold morning air. But wish there was a way to easily conceal it for warmer rides, because it does mess up my beard when I take the helmet on and off. :) The flip-down shade is a nice feature, but I think I will only use it when I forget to pack my prescription sunglasses. It's a cheap feeling thin piece of film. If you were to ride with the visor up and the shade down, I feel that if a bug hits it, it will crease the shade. The field of view using this helmet seems wider than my old one. I can see more of the road, and less of the helmet. The helmet is night and light. Feels much smaller than the Bell Revolution Evo, and doesn't feel like it would snap your neck. The Bell had a bit of weight to it, and turning your head quickly side to side, you feel the extra momentum continue through when you've stopped. This LS2 feels snappy with quick head turns. My rides to work are about 40 minutes long. While testing the helmet, I thought it felt like it would give me a headache on longer rides, but so far it's been fine. There seems to be more pressure on the top area of your forehead, and ears. I wish there was a pocket for the ears to rest inside of. Overall, I would have prefered to keep the $50 more Bell, but needed something that would work with my glasses. This does the trick.

Very comfy
The LS2 Helmets Modular Strobe Helmet has exceeded all my expectations, earning a solid five stars in my book. Its sleek design, combined with exceptional functionality, makes it a standout choice for motorcycle enthusiasts. The modular feature is a game-changer, providing the flexibility of a full-face helmet with the convenience of an open-face design when needed. The Strobe Helmet's advanced ventilation system keeps me cool and comfortable during long rides, even in warm weather. The quick-release chin strap and easy-to-operate sun shield add to the overall convenience. The build quality is top-notch, ensuring both safety and durability. LS2 has truly crafted a masterpiece with the Modular Strobe Helmet, offering riders a perfect blend of style, comfort, and functionality. I highly recommend it to fellow riders seeking a premium helmet experience.

The ls2. Not a bad buy, if you know what you're getting.
I've had this roughly 3 months now, and plenty of time using it. I'm happy enough for now Pros The modular part of the helmet is flawless. Not a ton of wind noise for the money Speaking of, fantastic value. Especially used Cons This is a heavy helmet. I don't mind myself. But be prepared for longer rides The sizing. I don't know what others are thinking. I'm typically a xl helmet size. But i went xxl just in case. It's still a wee bit too small. So id buy two sizes larger. So I ended up cutting and melting some of the strafoam inside so it'd fit and you could put a headset in. So now it's not too bad! Still a wee bit too snug. I bought used for 50$. and wasn't about to spend 10$ in return shipping to then buy a xxxl for 150$. I figured until something major fails, I'll keep it. Just buy the 50$ 'pinlock like' insert. Doesn't matter if you run it summer or cold. Just buy it. It's practically unusable if you close the two vents because it fogs so fast. Now with them open, it's okay. Now you see all the cons and probably think, nah. But really it's not a bad helmet. Id make sure you can return it, as it's more Chinese sizing.

Really good helmet at a reasonable price.
I decided to try the LS2 helmet line after hearing a couple reviews that said they were really good for the money, and I landed on getting the Strobe because it is made for intermediate oval shaped heads, and it has a removeable liner with ready made pockets for speakers for a intercom/headset. I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it was right out of the box, and it had an almost non-existent break-in period. I was also surprised to see it came with a Pinlock ready visor, which if it was mentioned in the description of the helmet I didn't notice, and that struck me as a real nice value-added feature for such a low cost helmet. The flip down sunscreen is easy to manipulate and does a good job of cutting down sun glare will I am riding. Wind noise is as about as quiet as you can get without going to a full face helmet. The fact that it is ECE rated instead of just DOT is also really nice. The only thing I would like to see as an improvement (more like an option, really) would be more choices in color. I would have really liked a red one. All in all, it is a great value for the cost, and a solid choice for a helmet.

A two ride initial review.
I just received this helmet today. It was packaged well and no damaged observed. Two plastic stickers peal right off the shield and goggle. I wear an XL full face and ordered this as an XL as well. It fit like a glove! I absolutely like the ratchet chin strap! The drop down shaded goggle is a super nice touch and very simple to operate via a sliding lever on the left side of the helmet. The clear shield feels sturdy yet easy enough to open and shut. I can feel a some air when I open the front vent completely at hiway speed. Its not overwhelming. There are two settings for the front vent. There is a piece of material on the front that stretches under your chin to keep unwanted air out. It does not interfere with overall comfort. The face of the helmet comes right up when you press the release button. I am able to keep my glasses on when putting on and taking off the helmet. Thats a major bonus for those who wear glasses. Finally for my test ride, I wore my Bose noise cancelling in-the-ear headphones. Again, they stayed in putting on and taking off the helmet. With the helmet completely shut and the noise cancelling on, I was able to enjoy music very clearly up to around 70mph. Anything beyond that and I'd start to hear some "popping" from the noise cancelation feature. With noise cancelling off, there was a lot of road noise and thought I could still hear the music, I did have the volume maxed out. The helmet itself does not look oversized. Overall I am thinking this was a good purchase and Ill be enjoying a lot of riding time with this helmet.

nice helmet!
great helmet! I bought white, 3XL, and fits well. this was maybe two sizes bigger than my head measured, but after trying a couple of XL's on in local stores, and finding them too tight, I opted for larger size and glad I did. I also wear glasses, so if helmet is too tight, it puts pressure on frames and is uncomfortable. also modular design make it easier to get glasses on, then can pull from mask dn and latch in place. even with larger size it is still snug with strap, and seems to block road noise and wind pretty well, although it is my first helmet. lots of neat features; open/ close vents, little slide lever on side rotates tinted shield dn inside. front shield snaps up in increments, so can snap up one step if waiting at light and begins to fog-up.. also strap is a quick-release (like a ski boot) which is very convenient to use, but impossible to attach helmet to helmet lock on bike. another benefit of modular - if you have helmet on and want to talk to someone, just flip front face portion up and face is open. nice design!
