Great for anyone who has difficulty falling asleep
Firstly, I have no association with the any company that sells this CD or Mark Bowden himself. I paid full price for the CD. I never even heard of hypnotherapy until I googled it after having a couple years of trouble sleeping and some anxiety. I ended up buying this CD after reading some of the reviews and figured it was worth a shot. I work a rotating schedule, 1 month at a time of days, evenings and nights. I used to have trouble sleeping during the day when I would work night shift. Not anymore. I black out my windows, lower the temperature in my bedroom, turn on this CD and off to sleep I go. I definitely recommend this to anyone who has trouble sleeping, relaxing or has some anxiety going on in their life. Note - It's not just for sleeping, there is a daytime 30 minute session which I've used once or twice and it was effective at relaxing me but I mainly use it to calm my mind before sleeping.

I think it's a very good for a beginner who hasn't done Relaxation or Meditation. However, for someone who has meditation in the past, I would have liked more quiet times, but that may be a personal preference only.

Good work, Mark
I found this relaxation CD on Amazon last week and decided to give it a try. I've used Holosync meditation CD's for the last four years and thought that they were helpful in treating the symptoms of adrenal fatigue, but hypnotherapy sounded interesting. I've used it every day since receiving it and am very impressed. I doze off, it's so totally relaxing ! I hope to try the one for anxiety, too. Good work, Mark !

Could have been perfect.
I bought this at full price. How do these people get it at a discount? Anyway I own a fair number of relaxation cd's and the problem I have with most of them is I can't stand the narrator's voice. They so often are drawn out with gooey fake sympathy. I even had one where the speaker had a lisp. Give me a break. This guy's voice is like melting butter. So relaxing. The sequence on the cd is as follows: first you picture a white light that slowly goes through your body. Then you do some calming breathing. You end up on a white sand beach on a small deserted tropical island. There is a garden and a waterfall in the middle of the island. At the end you are resting on the beach. Very relaxing and effective. I had a couple of minor problems with the cd. When he takes you to the garden on the island he talks about visualizing the perfectly manicured lawn surrounding the flowers. At this point I always think "why would there be a perfect lawn on a deserted island" and it kinda makes me a little tense. Not too big of a deal. But at the very end on the "sleep edition" He wakes you from trance and says you can go back to sleep. Why is he waking you to go back to sleep. This feels very jarring to me. Also, after that the cd goes silent. I would have very much liked the music to continue for a short time afterwards. On the whole this is a very good cd but missed the excellent rating.

Music Drowns out voice
Bought it for my spouse who has tinnitus and depression. He didn't like it because of the music. Music drowned out the words being spoken

Great cd very helpful another winner!
It is soooo good and a great cd to have in your collection... Mark will guide you through! This counteracts the job stress that is daily with my situation. It always levels things out and helps guide you towards positive thought. It also does alleviate tension and stress and reduce anxiety. I have found serenity always available because of my Mark Bowden Hypnotherapy "library". They work and help.

Works well
CD worked well, I felt very relaxed afterward. I have not tried the night track yet. It is a good way to relax from day to day life situations. Of course if you have overwhelming stress and crushing anxiety issues, buy the CD but get a referral to a professional for help on these well known issues. Then use the CD for "stress maintenance".

Early days but I think this is going to be the best thing I ever did! I live with anxiety disorder, panic attacks, social anxiety, fear, insomnia, OCD etc. and am always in a permanent state of "fight or flight". I've never tried anything like this . . . too stuck with the image of "stage hypnotists" and having trust issues with everyone and everything.. Five days in and I can honestly say I am now having moments where I find every muscle in my body is no longer tense and, consequently, painful. I still have very bad times and today I had to go out and I'm extremely anxious about leaving home but I had to do it for my daughter so I sat on the bus and closed my eyes and I could hear, in my head Mark's voice and his words, and the inner peace descended like a gentle melody washing over me. I think I could become addicted to that voice and those words but I can't verbalise how that feeling of relaxation and peace feels to me. It's an alien feeling that I have never experienced in my lifetime. My only minus . . . and this is in no way a criticism of Mark and/or what he does . . . . but I fall asleep when listening to this cd at night because I am so relaxed. However, I then wake up feeling very angry with myself because I fell asleep before it finished and, with my OCD, I have to go back to the beginning and start again. But that only makes me mad with myself because it can sometimes take me three "listens" before I hear it all the way through. Silly me!! I'm also now alternating this with the "Overcome Anxiety and Panic Attacks" and while I think this is going to be harder and take longer, I'm hopeful, trusting in Mark and determined to get to where I feel content, comfortable with myself and able to cope with life. Can't fault the recording in any way. Mark's voice is calming, soothing and reassuring and the background music is very gentle and peaceful.. I get the feeling also that Mark geuniunely cares very much about helping all who turn to him and he also makes himself available via email to answer any questions or offer help if there are any concerns. Long review for me but I can't say anything in one sentence!! I don't ever remember feeling positive about anything so this is a little miracle in itself. I feel overwhelmed with gratitudel to Mark. Thank you so much!!!

I bought this CD in response to suddenly suffering insomnia for no apparent reason. I was starting to get into the cycle of getting stressed about not sleeping and this was making the situation worse. I'd read nothing about this CD prior to ordering and had not heard of Mark Bowden so my decision to purchase was based on other reviews here. Arriving in a slim CD jacket the disc contains a couple of 30 minute tracks, one for daytime listening and one for nighttime. I've yet to listen to the daytime version as I've primarily used this to help of an evening. I listen to this with earbuds and an eye mask to help immerse myself in what Mark is saying and the sounds that are played. Mark has a very vanilla tone to his voice, which is good, as this helps you to just relax and let his words enter your mind. The whispering parts were a little weird especially as you're not expecting them but not something that would prevent me from listening again. I've been using this for a couple of weeks now, sometimes I've completely dozed off and missed out huge sections of the recording, other times I've got super relaxed right at the end only to be guided out by Mark. Sometimes it just hasn't worked for me but usually that has been down to circumstances prior to listening to the track. I'm still suffering from insomnia but this CD helps a lot as I am actually getting small amounts of sleep now. I actually bought the Insomnia MP3 from Mark's website as well but have only listened to that a few times compared to this one. Have found this CD very beneficial, particularly at night. The first few times I listened to it, it was possible to relax, yet I heard every word. After about the fifth day I dropped off to sleep half way through and now go into a deep sleep after just a few minutes. I always wake up at the end on the words "And now..." when you are being brought out of the trance. Being in two parts, with a day time and night time version, it is possible to have half an hour's relaxation during the day and also have a good night's sleep. So that is good. It is a shame that the two parts are identical, with only a change of ending, as it would be nice to have two different relaxation routines, maintly because it gets dull hearing the same thing twice a day. And this is probably just a personal thing, but I get irritated whilst listening to it and hearing: soothin', warmin'. relaxin', etc.

I have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for just over 4 years now. I have two spells of depression and been off work with stress three times. I am on a small dose on antidepressants and have completed an week CBT course, 121 counciling, mindfulness classes, bought numerous apps on my phone and had 3 sessions of 121 hypnotherapy. All have been useful in their own way but the bottom line is I still suffer with Anxiety. Out of all the things I have tried, mindfulness and hypnotherapy has worked best for me. I came across this CD whilst searching for guided meditation and thought I would give it a go. The CD arrived within 2 days and a simple plastic sleeve. I have made time to listen to track 2 everyday and I can honestly say I have only had 1 wave of anxiety since I started doing it. I have been so please with this edition I have since purchased the Anxiety one which arrived on Saturday. I'm full of cold and decided to sleep in the spare room so my husband could get a good nights sleep. I took the opportunity to do track 3 of the Anxiety one last night and I feel so good and positive today. Everyone is different and anyone who suffers from stress and anxiety I would recommend to give it a go and what have you got to loose. I will be buying more! Xx

Ive never tried anything like this before & have to admit was a bit sceptical but thought "what the hell lets try it" I have to say Im very glad I did because it has helped more than I thought. Every year since my early teens I get seasonal affective disorder (SAD) over the years Ive learned to manage my symptoms entirely naturally using st johns wort & a sad lamp except for one....& thats really bad anxiety,some years are worse than others & January is always the worst month of all,I feel nauseous,have panic attacks,insomnia,heart palpatations & dont want to leave the house & as a result of the stress get very low blood pressure which makes everything worse.I was at the point of thinking of seeing my gp for antidepressants, which I didnt want to do because I know by march I'll feel ok again,so I tried this disc. After just one session I felt calmer & more myself & I have now been doing the relaxation daily every morning for about a week,I feel so much better! no more panic attacks,Im sleeping at night,the anxiety has all but ceased & if I do begin to feel a little anxious during the day I just picture my island garden & I feel strangely calm again & my blood pressure has normalised too,this is the best thing Ive ever tried & knowing I can do this simple exercise & save myself another awful winter of horrendous anxiety is worth its weight in gold to me.Im so glad I came across this & I wouldnt hesitate to recomend it highly. If you are dedicated to doing the meditation daily, you will certainly reap the benefits & for me its a FAR bettar alternative to anti-depressants.
