Most novel plant I’ve ever bought.. ever.
As a child, visiting Florida to see grandparents, I fell in love with palm trees in general. Once I saw a coconut palm I pleaded with my father to retrieve a coconut for me. In Rhode Island, he split it with an axe and I had its contents for dessert and that was that. But, what if that coconut received the conditions it needed to become its own baby tree? I got that answer when I picked up a white bag (like you’d get clothing delivered in) from my concierge. It had an awkward shape, bulbous at the bottom and padded with bubble wrap. I searched my memory for what the hell I’d ordered that lined up with this thing in my hands. The first cut revealed its tall mast of foliage and I laughed aloud instantly flooded by memories of both what I’d ordered and my childhood April vacations. Here it was. A grayish seed with its palm coming out from one end and thick roots. It looked vaguely damp, and I gave it a shower in a big Pyrex bowl for the first time. That was in June and I’ve enjoyed it since then. Some little gnats had hitchhiked on this seed but I’ve since killed them using a diluted neem oil spray and some touch up tea tree oil water sprays. Some white fuzzy spots appeared and disappeared just as quickly by rubbing an alcohol wipe over them quickly. I’ve heard this palm will not survive in the long haul but my enclosed photo in planter is from today (8/9/2020) and I’m enjoying its unique wide, ribbed fronds. I may have to invest in grow lights for the winter but should it last that long I would be willing to do that. It’s a neat plant and if I had a patio I would let it receive bright, unfiltered sunlight to bask in. Currently it lives by my giant mill windows happily enough.

Tiny and dying
I'm disappointed in the state that the coconut showed up in. I was really excited based on the reviews I seen and it showed up earlier than I expected. However when I opened it up, it was tiny, brown, and shriveled up. I took a picture of it next to a regular oconut I bought at the store without its husk for comparison. There is no way this coconut will survive. Ill be suprised if it is still alive. I have ordered live plants through Amazon before and they show up I'm good condition, ok condition at worst. But this is unacceptable.

Arrived in great shape. Love it. Thank you!
Love my coconut palms. I had one that the boars destroyed (ran over it). I ordered a new one and this one arrived looking lush and beautiful. We are putting it in a better location for longevity. Really nice plant though. Very healthy.

Arrived in great shape.
Just got it so time will tell. Packaged very well. Arrived in great shape and came potted in a pot with soil. I thought it would just be the coconut by itself, as I have seen in person. No instructions, don't know if the soil is really necessary. I have seen others just growing from the coconut with around 4 feet of growth!

Arrived dry and dead
We wanted to invest in growing our own little palm tree, we thought this was good and looked at most of the reviews, however when we got it the plant was dry and somewhat dead we thought? We put it in the ground and watered it and the sprout was then dead. We emailed the company, and they did not provide us with a new plant, but did provide us with a refund for our money. But all we wanted was a new plant, and we didn’t get one.
