I would think it will not prevent future rust or tarnish. It is an abrasive liquid that cleans by rubbing.

Think it'll clean my Kirby Vaccum cleaner head?

clean? this is a mild abrasive, much like a thin toothpaste. Our kirby is older and made of polished cast aluminum and it works on it. If yours is similar, try some toothpaste on a damp terry cloth rag and polish in in an un-noticeable spot. Circular motion and it will turn black first, then keep at it until it turns bright. If that works well the bottle of Col Brassy will work and last you for years. If there are deeper scratches or scuffs it will not remove those (but will polish the areas between).. I'd recommend a polishing shop with ability to sand and buff out with a power buffer.
