Great product!!! Works perfectly. 6 chairs made a grid application. 5***** I applied outside, there will be a strong odour, but after a few hours all good.

Reliable and Easy Way to Protect Fabrics from Water and Stains
Scotchgard Fabric Water Shield is a lifesaver when you have kids and pets to help keep clothing and household fabrics safe from spills and light rain. The spray applies evenly and dries quickly, leaving fabrics water-repellent without altering their texture or color. It can be used it on jackets, cushions, and even outdoor pillows, and it really helps liquids bead up instead of soaking in. The two-pack is excellent for stocking up or treating multiple items at once, which makes it very convenient. I also appreciate that the protection lasts for a long time, so I don’t have to reapply constantly. Overall, it’s an easy, effective way to extend the life of fabrics while keeping them looking clean and fresh.

Great for pretreating....
Quick shipping. Securely packaged. No leaking. Retreated while recliner. Its been over a year and the soft white material is just a clean and bright as day one. Also used after shampooing and letting my carpet fully dry. Keeps the white lines in my carpet looking bright and clean much longer.

Great product and good value
Great product! I have been using this product for years. I use it on all my fabric shoes and furniture. Be sure to check a small spot before using to make sure it doesn’t stain. I have never had a problem. Works great. Good value

Got a little overzealous and used two full cans on a single pair of pants!!
So I am writing this for the comedic value, the pants are still drying so I have no idea the result. The break of dawn was the only time I had to spray my new White Tommy Hilfiger pants and I was outside working in very low light. As a result I could not see how much product was being applied. I sprayed a whole can and for some ridiculous reason I figured a second can was needed. Do I emptied the whole second can into those Tommy's as well. I let them sit outside for about 6 hours to dry.. When I went outside to bring them in, the cold had been absorbed by all the Scotchguard and then I realized my mistake, because they were soaking wet. I brought them inside and they immediately stunk up the whole house, so they went back outside. I hung them up near a porch light and even the bugs wont come near the light. So here I am 24 hours later and they are no longer soaking wet, but they stink god awful. Surprisingly the texture and feel of the fabric has not changed. They are still obviously not completely dry based on the smell, could take another 24-48 hours to fully cure. My Tommy Hilfiger pants are now going to sink slower than the Titanic! I could be outside in a category 5 hurricane and my nuts will still be bone dry! There could be a tidal wave and an epic flood, everyone around me will be drowning, but I am going to just float by like a leaf on top of the water while looking like a Boss is my spotless white Tommy Hilfiger's... There is so much Scotchguard in my Tommy's, that after humanity is extinct and the world is covered in ice, Aliens are going to dig them up and study them as the last surviving remnant of human engineering. Then the intergalactic federation of planets are all going to be wearing reverse engineered Scotchguarded Tommy Hilfiger knockoffs for space uniforms... That is how much Scotchguard is now in my Tommy's! Word of advice, definitely do it outside and plan to let them sit outside for at least 24 hours, the fumes are strong. Also, I think the advertisement is a bit misleading, one 10oz can is about enough to do a full jacket OR a pair of pants. One can will do both a pair of shorts and T-shirt together. To get full protection I think this is the minimum, however don't do what I did, it is way overkill, unless you are planning on spraying it on your space suit to explore the Methane atmosphere of Venus on foot.

Great protection
Used on my chenille fabric sofa and it has worked well. Protects the couch further from pets and makes cleaning easy.

The best? Time will tell
STINKS to high heaven! But easy to air out for 2 days. I deep dove in to the search for "best fabric protector" and did not arrive at any one brand being 100% "the best". Being a 3M fan, I went with Scotch Guard. LIght colored fabrics and me do NOT get along. I wear mostly black. I was going to replace my heavily soiled and stained Cashmere (very light tan) LEXUS floor mats with black ones, but decided to stay with Cashmere, but with FOUR coats of Scotch Guard. I bought two cans. One can was enough for four coats of SG on a complete new set of Cashmere Genuine Lexus floor mats for my "new" used 2007 Lexus ES350. Apparently, silicone is not the primary ingredient. But the variety of petroleum products in it are just awful smelling. Count on airing the mats OUTSIDE for two days before using them in an enclosed space. After two days 99% of the odor is gone. BUY this product despite the very fleeting temporary odor. Just something to be aware of. It goes away 100%. Value? If it works, well yeah. Effectiveness? How in the heck would I know? I just applied it. But 3M has more labs and scientists and experience than any other company selling similar products. So....there is that. Right? The car is too nice to have black mats that don't match anything. I don' live around mud or filth, so rubber all weather mats are ugly and not needed. My Lexus Cashmere mats even came with brand new Toyota clips to keep them in place. If the weather turns nasty for any kind of storm, I keep the old driver's side mat to throw down temporarily over my Scotch Guarded new one. IDK how to clean then without removing the Scotch Guard. That's why I bought TWO cans. I have a sealed can in reserve. I think one can clean light soil, several times without having to refresh the Scotch Guard. Still learning about the after care. The brand new mats look AMAZING and make the car look fabulous inside. They might as well be white, the tan is so light, therefore VERY prone to showing soiling. I DONT think they are going to STAIN with four coats of SG on each mat. I expect to re-do (clean, strip, and re-apply the Scotch Guard) the driver's side mat periodically as it gets heavily soiled. The other three mats should last at least a year or more without having to re apply the SG.

Good
It does an okay job, but you’ll need to apply it generously and use at least three coats for it to work properly. You’ll also have to reapply weekly since it does wear off over time. The chemical smell is quite strong, so I recommend spraying it outdoors and letting the furniture dry before bringing it back in.
