Lakewood, Pure Cranberry Juice, 32 oz

I was expecting this to be extremely bitter and needing to be diluted or mixed to be palatable. Honestly I like it just fine at full strength, though perhaps in smaller sips. I like it quite a bit better than the usual diluted and sugared cranberry juice you normally find in grocery stores. Sometimes it's better not to try to improve on nature. I like the glass bottles because glass is inert and has no effect on the flavor. By the way, it smells wonderful. Despite what you may have heard, the health benefits of cranberries are still being investigated and there's not a whole lot of evidence so far in vivo (in the body). Most of the health claims are speculative, based on in vitro studies (in a test tube). The claim about preventing urinary tract infections remains largely unproven. Anti-aging properties and the true benefits of antioxidants don't have a lot of scientific support, at least so far it's just theoretical. Blood pressure and blood glucose studies have shown no benefit from cranberry juice. Generally speaking, cranberries are really remarkable little fruits, but the chemicals they contain generally don't make it through your digestive process intact and the ones that do are quickly excreted from the body. It's one thing to show a chemical reaction in a test tube, it's another entirely to show a benefit in a human body where a lot of other chemicals are interacting. Anything good contained in cranberries has to make it into your blood stream and then make it inside your cells, before it can have much effect. Probably the most likely benefit of cranberry juice is actually to your teeth, in that it (theoretically) might inhibit bacteria growth that causes cavities. That's only because the cranberry juice gets to your teeth before any digestion occurs. So, don't buy and drink this juice because you think it'll help you live forever. Buy and drink this juice because you like cranberry juice without all the added sugar. I highly recommend it for this purpose. You may want to dilute it, or drink a glass of water afterwards, but it can be enjoyed straight out of the bottle if you like cranberries. If you hate cranberries and just want the theoretical health benefits, try blueberries instead as they are quite similar for antioxidants and a lot less bitter.

if you drink it by itself, it’s crazy gross but tolerable. If you cut it with water and you really like the taste of cranberries, it’s super awesome.

Very bad taste, according to previous reviews this juice was recalled. The juice went to garbage, can’t drink it.

Tart but very tasty, will buy again for sure. Help for UTIs
