(I guess the other CPUs with included coolers use the same box)It does tend to "hunt" quite a lot on frequency, causing a fair bit of cycling up/down of the cooling fan I used until played around with the fan curve. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantasic workstation performance for the price. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 7 January 2021* I finally upgraded my workstation PC from an Intel Xeon 8-core beast to a Ryzen 9 3900XT.I built the whole PC for only a fraction more than the Intel Xeon CPU alone cost about 6 years ago.My new Ryzen 9 build is monstrously fast and churns through video encoding projects much much faster.I have not tried it for gaming, but I would guess it would not be quite as good as my Ryzen 5 5600X gaming PC as many of the threads would remain unused in games.But for sheer multi-threaded performance it's fantastic value for around £400. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ First AMD chip since the 90s *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 21 October 2020* This thing is a powerhouse. Was cute to see they still have long gold pins like intel did back in the day. Nostalgia...Be aware though, that most games still haven’t mastered taking advantage of more than 6 cores, sadly. So, if you already have a 6 core machine, you may not see as much benefit as you’d like in some games.
