It has solid outside shell with a soft protective interior. The closure is also unique with a stretch like latch that goes over a stud to keep the lid closed. Good design. Its a little larger than I thought it would be but works great. It also has a rather unique interior retention cord which you can attach to the stored device. Avoids the risk of dropping the item when you take it out. They're well constructed and have well endured two hunting/hiking trips thus far. The lids remained secure while going through brush and were easily opened, even while wearing gloves. The tether cords seemed indestructible and long enough to allow pulling the gear (e.g., range finder, GPS unit, radio) from my belt or shoulder straps for easy use by myself or my hunting buddy to take a look-see. The Velcro strapping on the back of the cases allowed them to be attached in varying ways to my pack's straps, hip belt, and my pant belt. Also, the cases remained securely fastened while navigating through thick brush. Additionally, the case material is rugged and definitely protected my gear. In the past I've used other pouches for similar purposes but I've found these to be way better because of the retractable tether, method of secure closure (quiet open and closing with no Velcro sound), versatility of attachment, and the rugged case material. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Even X-L won't fit newer 6-1/4" smartphones. Unfortunately even the X-Large won't fit my new phone, which is about 6.25" with armorcase, which is not very big as phones go these days. Great case but T-REIGN needs to keep up with the times.If it fits your phone, it's the ideal phone case for outdoor activity, construction work. There is nothing else on the market that is so easy to open, hangs on your belt, and protects the phone from bumps, crushing, and light rain. Search Amazon and you'll see what I mean. I do construction and I've used one for years. Even sitting on it doesn't cause problems for the phone.Come on T-Reign! Need a size longer to fit larger smartphones (6"-6-1/4" high).
