I bought the one with no buttons to make it easier to get it on and off. But my mother in law is unable to help us with her feet and legs...if you look at the videos of the vest the woman he is lifting is helping him lift her with her legs...in that situation it works much better. In ours it didn't work very well at all, at least not on an every day basis.
