Wonder Woman (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray) Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the desertcarts, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny Review: Raises the bar - Gal Gadot is stunning as Wonder Woman, dominating almost every moment she's on screen apart from a few nice moments from Chris Pine, and there are a lot of great scenes, no mediocre scenes and this isn’t easy stuff. She doesn’t walk the fine line between female and strong, she shows us there is no line – she weaves the gordian knot of a real woman with no redundant threads and no missing threads. Similarly this is a coming of age movie, an action movie and an origin story woven together seamlessly. Unlike many action movies you know exactly why she's fighting and what she’s feeling in that moment and at the same time those action scenes are breathtaking, numerous and segued into and out of elegantly. And how she moves you have to see to believe, and not just in the action scenes – She’s elegant, lithe, powerful and determined, her acting doesn’t stop at the neck, it doesn’t even pause there – Her body language is perfect. I’d say that as superhero leads go they don’t get any better than this, but that would be understating it – There are awards she’ll win and that the movie will win that you’d expect a superhero movie to be in the running for. It should get most if not all of those. The only question is how many of the non-genre-specific awards it, and more specifically she, will get. I hope she gets the Oscar that any perfect performance deserves, especially given the challenging nature of playing an icon, a physically demanding role, no doubt a lot of green screen, and a character so far out of the norm both in nature and nurture. It's very difficult to find fault with this movie. The sound (at least in the cinema) is excellent, the score stirring, the 3D so good that it was unnoticeable, the special effects and cinematography outstanding and the performances of the supporting cast are almost without exception very good. As superhero movies goes this is a masterpiece on par with Avengers Assemble or X-Men: Days of Future Past. However, the smaller cast and the tightly focused well-crafted central story, Diana's story, lifted into the stratosphere by Gal Gadot's breathtaking performance, make it stand out from the rest – This is a masterpiece amongst all movies. Review: A proper super-hero movie - like the best of Marvel (but by DC?!?!?) - So let's begin with two obvious points. 1) this is a superhero movie 2) the hero is a woman So, this means that this film will appeal to two audiences (i) superhero movie fans and (ii) women who want a her who looks like them. This is arguably the same premise as Marvel's Captain Marvel. But this latter film fell flat, at least in the view of the male members of my family. The girls loved it. But it didn't really have the wow factor to be a top, top superhero film. Myself and my son (and my wife, oddly) were left feeling flat. Like we'd been in a film produced by brainstorm where the question was "how do we bring gender equality into the MCU" - we felt manipulated and not entertained. None of these problems affects Wonder Woman. The plot is strong. Wonder Woman takes on the proto-Nazi's of World War 1 AND battles the God of War whilst supported by a Yankee, an Arab hustler, a Native American and a drunk Scot. This feels like vintage Captain America - and, indeed, WW packed the punch of the first MCU Captain America movie. More importantly, though, WW felt like I was reading a comic book. A vintage comic book. I half expected to see ads for Sea Monkeys and Charles Atlas's muscle growth plan appear at certain points in the drama. Gal Gadot was excellent as Wonder Woman (her Israeli accent had the fun side effect of making every other woman of the desertcart Nation speak in a copycat Israeli accent - hysterical for those of us who know real Israelis). The Love story was believable. The Action story was gripping. The Ancient Mythology bent the truth a lot (and had the film's only logical flaw: Zeus seems to have been murdered before Diana (WW) came into being at his hand - odd that!). All together a 10/10.

It's a Wonder Women aren't always portrayed with such consideration!
To all the people who have written such silly over negative or equally the people who are (over the top) raving about it STOP......... this was never ever going to be a film for everyone, no film with a female lead even in these 'enlightened' times ever is. This is a well made, 'blockbuster' that certainly fulfilled the brief, look at the title people! okay the plot-holes were horrendous but to explain everything would have taken for ever! I saw no evidence of female sexploitation or gratuitous sexualised scenes, and to criticize Gadots acting is even more pointless..... they could easy have turned it into a 'dark knight'esque trilogy and brought out all manner of spin-offs but hats off to pulling off the almost impossible task.... a very good, entertaining (apart from Chris Pine's Capt. Kirk acting!) film about a female superhero, you think you could do better? go and had have a go if you think you're hard enough xxxx

A great addition to the DCEU
I seem to be going against general opinion when I greatly enjoy all the entries in the DCEU so far: 'Man of Steel', 'Batman v Superman', 'Suicide Squad' and now 'Wonder Woman'. As a child, I grew up with Marvel and loved Spider-Man because we were created in the same year (1962). I never had much time for DC Comics and I still believe that Marvel is better; however, 'Wonder Woman' is a well-paced, action-packed and thoroughly enjoyable superhero movie, with dashes of humour sprinkled in (especially playing against the inherent misogyny of the era). It's not perfect, relying as it does heavily on CGI that is clumsy in places, but it is epic - a movie I feel I could watch several times over. Setting this in the Great War may seem strange but that is because WW sequels will move closer and closer to the current era and 'Justice League'. DC and Marvel will both be upping the ante over the next few years but that can only be a good thing for us fans of superhero movies. I hope the WW sequel will live up to this inevitable evolution of the genre and the quality of this movie.

Wonder Woman as Good as the 80's tv show
Growing up in the 80's, nearly every child was familiar with Wonder Woman and Lynda Carter who was the best in portraying the female super hero. When I heard they were making a Wonder Woman movie I almost hurled at the idea of of another bad super hero film but, I was presently surprised by this Wonder Woman movie which turned out to be very good. Gal Gadot was very good as the character of Wonder Woman and was as good as Lynda Carter in that role which is saying a lot. The storyline was simple but opened up a complete back story that was never covered in the tv show in the 80's properly and this movie story line did create a back story that was very good and enjoyable. As Steve Trevor, Chris Pine also protrayed his character well. Nearly all the characters were made interesting enough to grab your attention and hold it for the length of the movie. I would recommend this movie and hope they make a second one.

... Universe and the first to be generally agreed as good by most audiences
Wonder Woman is the 4th entry in DC's Extended Universe and the first to be generally agreed as good by most audiences. I really didn't like Man of Steel. As for BvS and Suicide Squad, I haven't seen them, but never really have had much enthusiasm to do so. I did, however decide to watch Wonder Woman, as it looked great, and I can in fact say I was not disappointed. It had great action, comedy, drama, and it had a few twists and turns. Essentially, it appears that DC listened to what the critics and fans said about their films, looked at what Marvel was doing, and acted on it. Now, a lot of people have said it, and I might as well admit that I did in fact notice some parallels with other superhero movies, Captain America: The First Avenger in particular. It takes a lot of plot points from the 2011 movie - the villains are especially very similar. But overall, these are pretty minor complaints, and it didn't spoil my experience at all. Luckily, there are a lot of positives. The character development was good. We get to learn a lot about the characters, who were all enjoyable to watch. Wonder woman was never characterized too much in a comedic way for it to get annoying. She is a fish out of water, and has little understanding of the outside world, but it was always handled well, and she learns as the film progresses. In short, a very well made film, fun for all the family.

Great film, not so great statue
This is not a review of the film, as pretty much everyone has an opinion on that, and most people say it's great (rightly so). This is a review of the limited edtion version with the statue. So far I have bought all of the statues that come with the DCEU blu rays (Batman, Superman, Harley and Deadshot), and one annoying trend I have noticed is the decrease in quality. This is not to say that any of them are bad just that the initial statues of Batman and Superman were made by a respected model maker, Muckle mannequins, but the follow ups have all been generically branded statues, either nothing on them or with Made in China on them. The Batman and Superman statues were incredibly heavy statues, with some nicely designed bases. The Harley and Deadshot ones were still a reasonably decent weight, and nice detail, but the bases lacked any real detail and they just looked a little more plastic. The Wonder Woman one, despite being the most expensive at nearly £30 more than the previous statues, is the most basic (this is the one with made in China on). The statue itself is a hell of a lot lighter than previous models, and reall looks like it is made of much cheaper materials. The skin for instance is very very plastic looking. Also, like the Deadshot statue which had one arm you had to fit as a separate piece, the Wonder Woman statue actually has both arms requiring fitting. The one with the shield is fine as it seems to be magnetically attached, but the one with the sword feels very loose and actually drops off quite easily if you nudge it. And on the subject of the sword, it is horribly flimsy. Dont get me wrong, the model still looks nice, but it just does not look as up to scracth as the previous ones, and should have been cheaper not more expensive than previous ones. I am dreading what will happen when the release the Justice League collectors editions.

So much better than i thought it would be
I'm not a great fan of super hero style films but i thought this was a great all rounder - really good lead & supporting actors and some how they manage to get you emotionally invested in the plot. Which has a few twists. I watched it with the whole family and there are a few bits that are a little tough going for a younger viewers but in general all enjoyed the film. Even the wife who doesn't like super hero films either!

This is one of the best super hero films I have seen!
I really enjoyed this film. What a great story and the cast was superb. The background provided about Wonder Woman’s early life really added to the story. Add in the beauty of Gal Gadot, portraying Wonder Woman, and you have a winner. The movie has first class CGI and the movie was expertly directed and filmed. This is one of the best super hero films I have seen and I own them all. Wonder Woman comes out of hiding to help mankind to win and stop WWI. It is such a great story line that it keeps you on the edge of your seat just watching the film unwind. You keep wondering how one woman can make a difference in such a massive global war. Well, just sit back and let her show you how! I love the film and I rated it 5 stars. I also used my free digital copy to get the HDX Vudu version of the digital movie. I gave up on Apple films as I can play Vudu films on my Apple products, my Android products and on my Roku. This film is so good that I have been recommending it to all of my family and friends to see it. This is the best super hero film I have seen and it makes me want to see more of them made this way! I purchased the BluRay version and I got the Bluray disc, a DVD disc, and a digital copy that I got to receive a Vudu HDX version of the movie. The BluRay video and audio quality was perfect and even streaming the HDX version was great quality. This is a good way to get this movie. What I liked about this film is that the special effects were good but it combined in a good cast, direction and story line. I found the film entertaining and Wonder Woman was played perfectly by Gal Gadot. She portrayed a young Amazon Princess that was innocent and yet had super human powers and fighting skills. The majority of the cast was first class but she carried the film with her beauty, poise and acting skill! This is one character that can carry on a series of these films on her own talents or with other superhero characters. I cant wait for the next film to come out, I hope Gal Gadot continues to be in these films! When the next film comes out, I hope they maintain the quality of the storyline and the character. D.C. Comics has a real hit with this film and the main star and they should keep the action going in more films immediately. This film is a must see event with a great cast and storyline. Never have I seen a relatively new actress make such a smashing entrance in a movie as Gal Gadot. I really enjoyed this film and I am glad it is in our movie library to re-watch! If you like action movies and films about super hero’s then this is one film you should own!

Der erste DC Superhelden Film der mich begeistert hat!
Wow, was ein geiler DC Superhelden Film.
