Excellent charger
Long leads, easy to use very effective as both a short and long term charger. Has a clear display to indicate how far it is through the charging process, battery charge value, fast and slow charging for both 12 and 24v. Robust build quality - i have dropped it a couple of times, no issues. Recommend

Amazing product
The car battery charger with overcharge protection has been an absolute lifesaver. Its intelligent design and safety features make it a top-notch choice for anyone needing to maintain or revive a vehicle's battery. The overcharge protection ensures that I can leave it connected without any worry, knowing that it won't damage the battery. The user-friendly interface and clear display make it a breeze to operate, even for those with limited technical knowledge. Its versatility to work with various battery types and sizes is a significant advantage, and the charging process is efficient. This charger has saved me from countless dead battery situations, and the peace of mind it offers is truly priceless. It's a must-have for every vehicle owner. Just a shame I had to return it as it wasn't suitable for all my vehicles and buy the lower model

Brilliant Charger and good value
Bought this for my freelander 2, fitted the permanent lead rather than use the crocodile clips, intuitive display simple to use and is charging and maintaining my battery perfectly. Fits neatly under the bonnet being a compact unit, I can leave it on my drive overnight with it doing what it needs to do with my car fully secure Very happy with purchase so far highly recommend. Replaced a useless smart type charger that admittedly is now a few years old that decided my battery didn’t need charging! This is in a different league though and is doing exactly what it’s intended to. Thankyou Ring for a great product!

Didn't quite work for me
I bought this charger as the (stop/start) battery on my 2016 mercedes c class was low, kept coming up with 'stop car leave engine running' message. So I thought this would be a cheaper alternative than replacing the battery. When I put the charger on it showed 1 bar on the LCD screen and I left it to charge, but not fully as I needed the car so couldn't leave it any longer. The message came up again about a week later so I charged it again, this time fully and it took around 6 hours to fully charge. However a few weeks later the message came up on the dash again. So it did work, for a short while... It is easy to use, you attach the negative to negative and the positive to positive, select what you are charging (car or lorry) select the battery voltage (in my case 12v) and leave it to charge. It has a hook so you can hang it from the bonnet. There is only one button on the charger so is straight forward to use if you've never used one before like I hadn't. Once fully charged it will automatically stop charging (although will stay switched on) so it will not overcharge the battery. Downside is it has to be plugged in to the mains socket so you need to be close to one or have an extension cable. In the end I decided to get my battery replaced but it was worth a punt at £40

A great item very automatic but could do with a case
This is a great item but a little larger than anticipated. It doesn’t help that the mains lead and charger are hard wired adding extra length, rather than detachable . It would also be useful if it came with a case or you could buy one. I ended purchasing a NOCO GC040 Universal EVA Protection Case which’s is fine for storage. I keep mine for use in my camper van in case my start battery gets drained. The unit is very easy to use and is supplied with crocodile clips that plug into the charge lead. Also supplied is a lead with eyelet connectors that you could connect to your battery terminals and leave in place to quickly connect the charge lead. Only problem is Is there is no protective cap, you would probably have to tape up the end to be safe. The leads are quite short, but I have no problem connecting directly to the battery connections there is little risk here. Also you can buy third part extension and eylet leads that have a protective cap on the charge end

Stop-Start batteries will thank you
Never had a car with Stop-Start before this current vehicle, & nowhere in any literature did it specify about specific charging requirements, so consequently over time I killed my battery using my trusty standard charger. At this point I became keenly aware of the difference & after reading reviews chose this brand/model. Having access to other vehicles, motorbikes, friends with cars/bikes/vans that might ask, etc.. I figured the big boy of the bunch was the one for the me. It is so simple to use, just hook it up, select your mode & away you go. The display is clear, the controls uncomplicated, the results speak for themselves. My batteries are all in tip top condition according to my battery tester, thanks to regular top-ups, maintainence mode sessions when not in use for longer periods, & using the proper charging device, of course.

Very poor excuse for a charger/maintainer.
This is not a well-thought-out charger, or did I end up with a duff model? Personally I think the former given it has just about the most appalling user instructions I have ever seen along with contrary information as to when it really is an 8 amp hour charger. No explanation as to what the 12 volt truck sign means in the ever so dim and tiny display. Once a mode is "selected" it seems to lock onto that forever even after switching it off, i.e. aka pull the mains plug. The user has no control on this device and Err 1 code kept popping up with zero clues from the user instructions as to what this actually means! All in all for a Ring product I was bitterly disappointed and I simply cannot accept this as a serious battery charger or maintainer. Quite how and why it is an Amazon best buy is utterly beyond me. Sending it straight back to Amazon because it is simply not fit for purpose.
