PWM DC Motor Speed Controller, DC 10-55V / Rated 40A / Max 60A LED Display Stepless DC Motor Controller with Adjustable Potentiometer & LED Display Screen & Forward-Brake-Reverse Switch

We have purchased three different DC controllers for this project. The first two were from China and rated at 30 amps. They both got very hot and failed at 10 amps. We subseuently purchased this controller, which was more sophisticated and had nice remote controls and a speed or percent power indicator. This one is rated at 40 amps, whereas our application required 12 amps, so we intended to run it at about 30% or rated output. At 12 amps, this one also got hot but didnot burn out. We reduced the running amperage to 10 amps and the device did not reach a failure temperature level. We will build this unit into our product but reduce the rating to maximum of 15 amps rather than the published 40 amps. The controls and indicator are very well done.

Smooth Speed Control for a Power Wheels Upgrade Used this PWM DC motor speed controller along with the DeWALT battery adapter to upgrade my grandson’s Power Wheels, and it works exactly as I hoped. It lets me dial in the speed so the extra power from the 20V battery doesn’t turn the car into a rocket, giving a nice smooth takeoff instead of a hard jerk. The knob makes it easy to fine‑tune top speed for different ages or surfaces, and once set it holds that setting reliably. Wiring was straightforward for a basic 12V system, and everything has been running cool and consistent. For projects where you’re adding more power and want control and safety, this is a solid 5‑star add‑on.

I purchased two of this item to wire a 12v Watersnake tolling motor to my Hobie kayak. First one got fried while wiring. I thought I wired it wrong. The second one got fried while testing on the water 3rd time. Each test was about 30 minutes run on and off. The third/last test was about 30 seconds. I turned it on to 1/2 - 3/4 of the max power. It just stopped working after about 30 seconds. Very disappointing. Anyone looking for my kind of set up, Watersnake t24 to Hobie kayak, don't buy this one.

Simple forward and reverse motor control. I found the rocker switch was not suitable for my needs so changed to two separate momentary push button switches. I didn’t use the ‘turns digital readout’ as it’s not got a ‘retained’ memory, it goes to zero if switched on or off. So I didn’t know where I was in rotation terms.

Nice compact unit but with some small problems encountered when mounted in a project box. The off/on switch snaps in and needs to be unplugged from the board so the wires can be fed through the mounting hole. To do this the heat shield has to be removed and can pinch the wires when put back in place. The digital readout has no way to lock it in its mounting hole, I had to glue it in place using a hot melt glue gun. Mounting screws are not included and care needs to be taken because longer screws will hit the underside of the PC board when mounted from the bottom. First impressions are it's a nice unit for the price but a little bit of a PIA mounting the controls and readout. I'm using it to run a small starter motor off of a tractor for a dog string lure course and being able to control the motor speed is a big upgrade.

Using it on an old Minn Kota 30 pound. Working like a charm

I have used a few import pwm controls and this one has the best quality control so far. I connected this to a 40 amp DC power supply for a large DC motor. It handles the current fine and the motor seems to run quieter. Great product ! Oh, and the label for -/+ is correct.

Burnt the board while hooked to a 40v battery and electric motor. Didn't even get one full rotation out of the motor before the board smoked

switch failed, came apart after very little use

These are so much cheaper than expected and works just like the expensive ones.
