What’s the difference between the 1/2 inch and 1/2” overlay on this item? I have a 1/2 overlay face frame cabinets.

Puzzled!! A 1/2" overlay is the standard with simple 3/4 box frame construction. More or less might be a question of aesthetics, and more work.

Will this work on the Oxford door from ikea?

My doors were not purchased at IKEA. They were custom made and hinge wells crafted with a router, to my knowledge. So I've no idea.

What is the gap between door and face frame when closed? Is it mostly flush?

you can adjust it some with the screws on the end. It's not a large gap, I have shaker cabinets, Hampton bay, with a 1/2 overlap and I could adjust them to be tight and look nice. I have several different hinges due to customization. I built pullout drawers and modified them.
