The screw holes line up and allow you to mount picatinny attachments on the bottom and sides of the handguard.Honestly, I'd just recommend buying a new mlok handguard though. By the time you get 4 of these to be able to mount 3-4 things, you're already $50 in and you end up with an odd looking handguard with little pieces of picatinny patched all over it. Decent mlok hand guards can be had for around $100 so just save up and go for that, I don't think you'll regret it.If you just have 1 or 2 items to mount though this is the way to go.
