Taylor K-1000 Basic Residential Pool & Spa Test Kit

I purchased poolmaster test chemicals from Amazon and got three consecutive bad batches of phenol red. What a pain in the rear. Reviews hint It’s been going on a long time. I’m not sure how they get away with selling fake test kits on Amazon. Regardless, this kit/chemical set is a breath of fresh air and I have heard from others that they are consistent and otherwise reputable. Super easy to use. Works! I’ll be purchasing again.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Cost effectiveness

Received July 19, 2025. Chemicals in the kit expire October and November of 2025. Making them only good for three months. When I purchase the drops at brick and mortar stores the expiration is at least a year out. These will never be fully used by the best used by date. May want to get in store to check dates. I will next time. Case and test tubes are fine.

Taylor makes one of the best basic pool water test kits for pH and Chlorine. I use it almost daily to make sure the pH is in range and that there is a measurable amount of chlorine in the water at all times. I ran out last year and picked up a test kit from a big box store - big mistake! Those generic kits were impossible to read. This kit is far superior and excellent for the daily water tests!

Great kit

I purchased an older pool that hadn't been maintained. This kit has been an integral part of me learning how to keep levels balanced. It's very simple to use and I now can control pH / alkalinity levels as well as chlorine. Value for the money.
