BEST reading glasses I've ever owned!
These multifocal progressive glasses are exactly what I have been looking for. I am an author and I sit at my computer many hours each day. I wear contacts for distance vision but they leave me with little closeup vision. These Foster Grant glasses are perfect for me. I bought the 2.0 power version, which gives me 2.0x at the bottom, 1.5x in the middle, and 1.0 at the top. I look over the top of the glasses to see in the distance. There are no lines in these progressive lenses to interrupt my vision. I simply have to tilt my head up to get stronger magnification. The 1.0x part of the lens lets me sit from one to three feet away from my computer monitor, with perfect vision for writing my books. As I glance down at the keyboard, the 2.0x portion kicks in and makes all the keyboard keys nice and sharp. If I hold something up to look at it at arm's length, the 1.5x area makes arm's length vision very sharp. The progressive areas are wide enough to work well, without edge blurring. The quality of the frames and hard plastic lenses are exceptional, easily as good as any prescription glasses I've purchased. The hinges have the expansion springs that let you spread the frames apart without breaking them while you are putting the glasses on. The springs hold the glasses snugly against my face without squeezing too much. There is a mild tint on the lenses that seems to remove a touch of blue, warming up what you see a tad. Probably good for night reading. The full-size nose pieces are very comfortable and are adjustable by bending. For the price, these are the best reading glasses I have ever owned. I highly (and I mean highly) recommend these for writers, computer programmers, or anyone else who has to sit at a computer all day and needs a little magnification to aid aging eyes. I'm going to buy an extra pair of these to keep for the future, in case this particular frame style is discontinued some day. Great job, Foster Grant!

Good quality glasses
Update few days later 3-8-24 The two sides of the glasses have a very small spot welded that holds the two pieces of metal together, and I was very disappointed that just from putting on the glasses, the right side broke right off. The spot weld is so small that you can clearly see it just wasn’t enough to hold it on. AMAZON gladly set up an exchange and is sending me a new pair and I will send these back, but it’s just a hassle of returning the item and I’m just hoping it doesn’t happen again as I’ve purchased a few pairs of these to put all around the house. Will update again if they break again I’m hoping it just happened on the second pair that I ordered and it won’t happen again. My parents turned me on and gave me a 1.5 X pair of glasses for Christmas as cheaters and they are very comfortable. I ordered these because I’d like glasses throughout the house in each place I could be at and I love these new ones I ordered even more than the last pair. Beautiful frame, nice and sturdy. Definitely recommend

Good w/minor drawback
I recently purchased multifocus reading glasses, and overall, they work well for their intended purpose. The ability to switch between different magnification levels is quite convenient and suits my needs. However, one drawback I've noticed is that there's a noticeable glare when I use them during the day, which can be distracting and affect my reading experience. On the positive side, this glare is much less pronounced when I use the glasses at night. In terms of durability, I haven't really put the scratch resistance of these multifocus reading glasses to the test because I handle them with care. However, it's worth noting that they haven't shown any visible scratches so far, which is a positive sign. Regarding comfort, while I've had lighter glasses in the past, these multifocus glasses are not uncomfortably heavy. I can wear them for extended periods without discomfort, making them suitable for long reading sessions. So, despite a few minor drawbacks like daytime glare, they are a reasonably comfortable and functional choice for multifocal glasses.

Partly great, partly maddening
These are my second (and third) pair of Foster Grant multifocus. For a person who just needs readers to combat standard age-related vision deterioration, I've noticed these are the smoothest progressive readers I've been able to get my hands on, and I'm through about 5 different makers already. These have the most usable transition from distance to reading, without notable blur along the way. The top is almost zero, but does exactly what I need for things 3-5 feet aways, while the bottom is perfect for reading my phone or something else up close. The problems start with the glare. As others have noticed, these definitely do not have any kind of anti-glare coating. When I use these on video calls, folks can pretty much see a mirror image of my computer screen. Other cheap non-progressives that I have are much better about this so it would've been nice if these had it. The other problem seems to be attention to detail on the packaging side. I've ordered the matte gunmetal version now twice, and both times received the black ones. Amazon was great about helping me out, but it looks like the manufacturer is actually packing the black ones in the gunmetal package, complete with the gunmetal SKU on it. I'm not about to order a third pair, so if I see Foster Grant in a store I'll see if the gunmetal version is there, but since Amazon thinks they're shipping me the right color, I can't really ask them for more help. I'm wearing the black ones now, but they're a bit too intense for my face. Would've liked to get my hands on the right color.

Stylish, truly multi focus, and comfortable!
Love these new Foster Grant Multifocus Glasses! After seeing these advertised on television, I decided to give them a try and they are wonderful! I am new to having to wear reading glasses - everyone jokes how it's a birthday gift around 50 years old yet it's no gift. While some of the glasses can be stylish, I find them to be annoying and uncomfortable. Annoying to take on and off and then have to carry them for the few minutes that I'll need them again - maybe just to read a menu. Uncomfortable because I don't need them most of the time so I end up putting them on my head and then they are just an uncomfortable headband. Well, these are different!!! Foster Grant Multifocus are a different kind of reading glass. 1. They are stylish. To be honest, I ordered 4 different style in order to choose which ones to buy for my husband and myself. I chose the Conan style and he chose the Sawyer style. All were stylish just each a bit different. 2. They are honestly multi focus so I don't need to take them on and off. For me the best part of this is to be able to type on my laptop, turn my head to read a piece of fine print on paper and then return to the computer screen to type. Ahhh! No more taking my glasses on and off again and again. I probably won't walk around in them yet that brings me to the next point. 3. They are comfortable. While the multifocus says that you can leave them on to be able to look straight ahead for distance, I didn't find this the most comfortable - while not blurry, it was just a bit straining. So...I put them up on my head. Wow! Foster Grant has wonderful spring arms so they are a very comfortable head band! yeah! While not the least expensive, I am very very happy with our new Foster Grant Multifocus glasses and will be buying more! I appreciate other purchasers' reviews and that is why I choose to write them now. Amazon reviews help me choose which products to buy. I sort product choices by Average Customer Review to help decide which item to choose. I didn't find a lot of reviews for Foster Grant Multifocus as they are quite new. I have found customer reviews to be very helpful and hope that I am paying it forward by providing this review. Thank you to Foster Grant for making this nice product and to Amazon for selling it and shipping it so quickly. I love Amazon!

low quality garbage
complete and utter garbage. the marketing descriptions and images are totally misleading as well. my item arrived nicely packaged, with a faux silver carbon fiber sleeve that actually looked pretty appealing. once i took the glasses out of the box, however, all of my hopes for a multi-focal pair of glasses that is good for "reading, computer, and interacting" were dashed. first of all, on the box itself, they have changed the description to "reading, computer, and 'edge of desk.'" edge of desk doesn't sound like interacting in an office environment, which is what their online ads would have you believe. edge of desk sounds like you're sorting papers by yourself in a converted coatroom. so, basically worthless for what i'd hope to use them for: putting them on and leaving them on in the office, so that i don't constantly have to put reading glasses on/off and feel like a much older person. but i suppose it's just as well that the foster grants can't be worn when interacting with people, since the quality is horrible. i suppose foster grant didn't lie when they said that the items are "imported." but instead of the images of sexy italian design or solid german engineering that race through your head, the foster grants are imported from...china. which means the plastic that looks so high quality and matte in the marketing pictures is actually cheap, flimsy, shiny junk. mine arrived with one temple bent in and down, so that the temples weren't even straight or the right length. and the hinges are of such poor quality, that one side had a big gap while the other was shifted down on the frame. and the action of the hinges can best be described as...loose, with enough movement in virtually every direction to make a ball joint proud. in short, these glasses are only appropriate for use if you're stranded, alone, on a deserted island with only a very fine print book as your only source of companionship. if a rescue ship arrives, make sure to bury these glasses in the sand before they get to you.

2cd.Pair of Faster Grant Men's Multifocus Glasses....
Glasses are sturdy and functional... reasonably stylish. The most important item is that they do in fact work quite well for close, med. and short distance viewing. This product has become my "go to" pair of glasses in short order. I might want to let others know that I received a tip that helped quite a bit. Go to Walmart Optics or similar and have the screws in the hinges replaced with loc-tight screws. These screws have a bit of glue surrounding the threads that sets and seals the screws in place. Thus, the screws do not back out on you. I have found previously that this simple fix caused me to have little or no problem with hinges on my multiple pairs of readers. Once I completed this little second step, I have had no problems wearing - using - and enjoying (as much as one may enjoy glasses) my new pair of glasses. And one ancillary item, this is my second pair of glasses of same make and style. The first pair was torn to "absolute shreds" by our new English Springer Spaniel pup! Lesson learned and note to self: -"PUT YO GLASSES UP" before you lean over to pet your PUP - just in case they slip out yo pocket. I think you can imagine the rest...
