Best laptop/tablet/drawing pad
The only thing I dislike about this product is the battery life. I love to game on this laptop and it drains the laptop quickly only after5-7 hours. if you get this laptop I suggest getting MAX specs. I have the 15 inch 32 gig 2tb model and it works great. There is one problem that does bother me everyday. I noticed that whenever i am scrolling through webtoons or manga comics the screen will freeze for 1-4 seconds but if i switch to tablet mode it never does this. i figured if im going to spend 4200 bucks on a laptop it would not freeze for a second while scrolling through comics on the web. Overall this is the best electronic device I have ever owned. I would say if love gaming/drawing/reading/watching high quality youtube videos/zoom,discord,skype calls then i would say buy this device asap

Flexibility
I researched the heck out of exactly what it was that I wanted prior to making this purchase. I do instructional work on the side of my birthday day to day (firefighter). I didn't want anything with a large footprint so I wanted to stay with something in the 13" range, sleek, minimal and powerful. I initially purchased the razer stealth and was blown away by how fast and efficient it ran programs etc. Windows hello worked well with it also, however wanted more from the laptop, touchscreen etc. I decided to send it back and opted for the less powerful yet more flexible surface book 3. As soon as I received it I knew I had made the right choice. Extremely flexible, I live the tablet mode, using the pen during instructional work and having the ability to articulate my point more so on web based instructional courses etc is a homerun. I did have battery issues initially, but this have since been resolved with the updates and when using office only, my screen would flicker almost as of it's adjusting to a different screen resolution. It hasn't happened within the past few weeks and I think that may have been a software issue as well. A bonus feature is that I have the option to game with xbox game pass and this little machine will play some Halo etc with zero issues. Quite impressive for how thin and small it is. Overall, this is a solid laptop although I did understand that there are several other laptops of similar fashion that execute certain tasks better. I don't agree with the price point, but I was able to purchase it with around $350 off which was a solid sale price. The flexibility is like no other, the options are endless and it's extremely well built. I'm very happy with the purchase. The web cam is ridiculous as well.

Product Brand is Awesome - Unusual Faulty Hardware Maybe Vendor to Blame
I am a proud veteran owner of many Microsoft products (hardware & software) for over 10yrs based on their performance, reliability and customer service, especially in my line of work. My last Surface Book I purchased from Best-Buy brand-new, and it lasted me over 6yrs with barely any issues; definitely nothing major. On 10/11/2021, i purchased a brand-new Surface Book 3, 13.5” Touch-Screen from antonline at Amazon. By 11/22/2021, the c-port was malfunctioning, and I requested assistance to multiple sources, including antonline and Microsoft. I figured out a temporary work-around from the c-port malfunction until finally one of the USB ports gave out! Throughout all this time, Microsoft Support was very hospitable listening to my explanations of the problems, along with their suggestions. However, nothing worked. No peep from anyone else. Once the USB port went out, Microsoft helped me by replacing my Surface Book on 3/1/2022. The new Surface Book works wonderfully in performance and speed; amazing quality product just like the previous, minus the hardware issues. Yesterday, 4/14/2022, the charger of the original SB3 died on me. I again have reached out to multiple sources, including antonline and Microsoft. Microsoft responded in 12 minutes. Still waiting on antonline to respond. This tells me that antonline is possibly selling refurbished/faulty/unreliable expensive products to customers while telling them it is new. For a new Surface Book 3 to have hardware issues with their ports within 4 months, and then the charger to malfunction as well in 6 months; something needs to be reviewed on the matter.

Great laptop! Very pricey-blame it on inflation
I love my new laptop, has performed very well for me, whatever task I threw at it. One small complaint I have, and the only reason I have it is I paid a stupid amount for this thing so something this expensive should be pretty good. For some reason the wifi is kind of flaky, will bump me off at random intervals, I don't know why. The other thing i'm just a little worried about is the hinge/screen detach. But so far has worked great. I just wonder what will happen when that takes a dump. But as far as price? Just buy it already. I know, it's expensive, but so is everything else in the world. You'll hurt when you pay your credit card bill, but you'll be ok a week later.

love, but a couple of drawbacks
have had surface tablets before that i loved, so when i had the money to purchase a new laptop it seemed like a no brainer. there are a couple of things i wish for that would make it truly outstanding. the bug that makes you have to restart often when switching from laptop to tablet node for proper orientatation is annoying. also that there are no protective cases for the 15" size. am paranoid to leave the house with it, which kind of defeats the purpose of a mobile computer. the top of my wish list for the system would be a way to still use the keyboard without the screen attached.

I'm an interior designer and was mainly looking for a computer that was strong enough to handle 3d software and rendering as well as have the ability to use a pen as if writing on paper. Originally my intention was to have the option for sketching and writing notes, but as a user of a wacom tablet at my office, I use it for Photoshop as well. Unfortunately the surface pen capabilities for photoshop mean having to disconnect the keyboard, or flip the screen around which disable the keyboard, so in the end it makes that a laborious process, and harder to use photoshop without access to a keyboard. That said, using photoshop in laptop mode is great, and I'll have to live with my choice. Overall a great computer with good power. Working on it most of the day for all my sketching and note taking purposes, usually I have to recharge it daily, but still a good battery life.

The Surface Book 3 delivers a unique combination of processing power, exceptional graphics, tablet operation and good, old-fashioned build quality.

I've owned both the SB2 and this. First and foremost, the reason why I got this upgrade was because my SB2 ran into hardware problems (studio mode did not read USB ports or GPU). Luckily, I haven't ran into any issues of that sort with this (...yet), but there is a prominent issue with all surface devices: Dock disconnections. I've heard that this is just an issue of design, but that makes me wonder why a company like Microsoft hasn't fixed it, if it's just a design issue. The issue is that the screen connection to the keyboard is not rigged. This causes the screen to wiggle and disrupt the connection between it and the keyboard. This causes the GPU, SD slot, and any connected devices (USB) to disconnect. I love this product, it's my favorite all-round machine. It can run lower end games (who needs ray-tracing anyway) , run programs for audio, video, etc. editing, and the touch screen is amazing. I don't see myself needing a new laptop any time soon, which is good because of its premium price. But if you're going to buy it, and like to work while laying on you bed (or any soft/bouncy surface) you better start changing your work habits: It's a table or nothing with this laptop. Heating is also a concern. If you're just doing writing or something, it's great. But if you so much as ask for the GPU to walk, it'll turn into the sun. This isn't helped by the fact that the entire body is metal. Get a standard fan pointed at this thing if you're doing anything moderately intense and only work in the winter. I honestly think the reason why I prefer my room to be below freezing is because I've been exclusively using the surface book line for the past few years and it's made me acclimated to colder environments. It may also be because I'm Canadian. Finally, I would highly recommend getting this product from an actual Microsoft store. Warranty is a hassle, but most of these devices run into issues in first year (not sure why.. manufacturing maybe?). Amazon is cool and all, but the extra effort is required for this device. It's like a baby... you love it, but it makes some days a living hell. I'd say this is more for students and people who like to a lot of things (music, art, etc.) but not to a degree which would require a dedicated machine built for that sort of work.
