Review: High Quality Product for the Discerning Cook - This was my 3rd purchase of Wagyu Beef Tallow and although pricey, cooking with it is excellent, giving me the results and tastes I am looking for in the end product. It is refined to a creamy texture, and the container allows you to scrap everything out of it with nothing wasted. I no longer use any type of seed oils, relying on butter, tallow, coconut, ghee & olive oil. Even though buying certified organic is a bit more expensive than high-production oils, I find they are of higher quality, satisfies my needs and is worth paying more. I also sparingly use this tallow by using it as a hand cream, and less often as an after-shave conditioner.

Storage is easy, keep in a cool dry place or in fridge. I keep mine in the kitchen cabinet and got almost a year use out of it. No mold, no mildew, straight up held its own in the cabinet. As to what you are actually getting, the label reads Pure rendered Wagyu beef fat. Period, no added suet or other ingredients. Bought my second round of this a week ago so I am happy with the quality of this tallow. I would highly recommend this tallow for your culinary needs. Also, this has a low melt and high smoke point, so if you live in a warm environment, you may be happier storing in the fridge to maintain its consistency.

**Q: Is this grass fed tallow?**
A: They are raised grass fed, but finished on a proprietary diet utilizing wet and roasted brewers grains. So therefore they are not 100% grass fed.

**Q: must this be refrigerated after opening?**
A: Thanks for your question! No, this product is shelf stable, but should be kept in a cool, dry place. You can refrigerate the Wagyu Beef Tallow to harden the fat if that is your preference. But that is up to you!

**Q: Is this tallow liquid or solid at room temperature?**
A: Thanks for your question! The melt point for Wagyu Tallow is around 90°F plus or minus about 5 or so degrees.  For example, this is basically the same as butter.  What makes Wagyu steaks so prized is their marbling - or fat content - Wagyu beef fat naturally has a lower melt point than commodity beef fat. So the fat will begin to soften at room temperature, and will begin to liquefy at higher room temperatures (for example if the heat of your kitchen is in the 80°F - 85°F range (or if you keep the fat next to a hot stove).  If you prefer a harder fat you can refrigerate the Wagyu Tallow - or if you prefer to use it in liquid form that is fine as well. It is up to you!

**Q: Is this hydrogenated at all?**

This was my 3rd purchase of Wagyu Beef Tallow and although pricey, cooking with it is excellent, giving me the results and tastes I am looking for in the end product. It is refined to a creamy texture, and the container allows you to scrap everything out of it with nothing wasted. I no longer use any type of seed oils, relying on butter, tallow, coconut, ghee & olive oil. Even though buying certified organic is a bit more expensive than high-production oils, I find they are of higher quality, satisfies my needs and is worth paying more.
