Concentrated, opaque, and suitable for fine detail work on unfired clay or bisque, low/mid-high fire (Cone 05-6) AMACO Semi-Moist "SMUG" Underglazes are formulated to be applied like traditional pan watercolor paints! Colors respond like watercolors when brushed, becoming more opaque when layered and more transparent when diluted with water; they can also be blended and mixed to achieve a wide variety of effects. Semi-Moist Underglazes are packaged in watercolor-like pans, in a convenient tray with a hinged lid; use a brush dipped in water to lift underglaze from the pan, then apply. If left unglazed, colors should not be used on surfaces that come in contact with food or drink. Colors can be fired to Cone 10.

**Q: matte finish?**
A: Yes mat finish. These are underglazes and so I cover with a clear glaze after.

**Q: Can they be fired to cone 10?**
A: Yes, the colors in this set will hold up to cone 10.

**Q: How do i choose which set i’d like? the amazon listing doesn’t allow me to choose.**
A: As far as I know there are four different sets each with different colors. Scroll down into description to get a look at the listed colors.

**Q: Are these different than using their regular underglazes and watering them down?**
A: I have used both together on pieces. Both have pigmentss in them for color, but the colors are not the same for each other. You have to coat more with water color set than with regular underglazes. Watering down the water color makes weak color out of them or washes them out. I don't know about watering down underglazes at all.
