TP-Link Litewave 5 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch was easy to install and worked well. It did exactly what I needed, which was add ethernet ports in a remote location. It was a great value and fir my application perfect. The small size makes it easy to hide behind a whatever and its compatible with all types of ethernet cables.

This is a simple Ethernet Switch/Splitter. It works perfect, however there are a few reasons/downsides to why I give it 4 stars instead of 5. 4 Stars because it works. However, it is listed as a 5 Port and I guess I should have done a little more research before ordering. 1 of the 5 Ports has to be used to plug your ethernet in from your router, thus leaving you with only 4 ports (not 5). All 5 ports are generic, there isn't a specific one that you're supposed to feed your main ethernet line into, like most ethernet switch/splitters. The overall design of the device is compact but it feels flimsy and cheaply made.

Great for expanding the number of ethernet ports from your router to make your online devices all have a wired connection. The box is very easy to setup and begin using. The unit runs cool and quiet. Speeds are fast and consistent, even when pulling data thru multiple ports. A cheap simple solution for basic residential networks.

(TIP) When looking for a modem (or an Internet distributor), try to find a WIFI modem with an ON-OFF switch. Routers with a (native) switch closing only the WIFI antenna of the rest of the dispatch are unfortunately as rare as internet provider modems without a wifi antenna that must be provided (with or without ADSL wiring). Otherwise, consider getting another modem without an antenna (help yourself from a technician if its possible or necessary) and a second one with WIFI (connect to this kind of HUB...). There exist also some model of integrated switches on AC extension cords (or the multiplugs), all for always having the possibility of manually switching off the WIFI router between uses and possibly the HUB and the rest of your installation at night. > This HUB dont have a native switch ON-OFF (like the most part) QUALITY-PRICE: At this price (-20$) it is a VERY INTERESTING high-performance choice that does not have much competition in recognized brands. Hope this unbiased review can contribute in your own decision.

The switch was easily installed. I am successfully using three of the five ports. I can not attest to the product's plastic casing durability vs. aluminum. My installation is in a secure and hidden location thus the durability was not part of the buying decision.

Este switch es una excelente compra, Una solución rápida para poder conectar diferentes dispositivos sin sacrificar esapacios o requerir la instalación y porogramación de un modem adicional. Por ejemplo, este lo utilizo en mi habitación, en donde sólo tengo un decodificador de mi proovedor de cable y con este switch pude repartir la señal para mi laptop, pantalla inteligente y play station, teniendo una velocidad mayor a la que me daría el wifi del decodificador de mi proveedor de cable. Lo mejor de todo es que no requiere configuración. Tan pronto se saca del empaque y está listo para usarse. Ni siquiera importa el orden de conexión de los puertos, en cualquiera detecta la fuente de internet. El precio es un regalo por la calidad insuperable que ofrece. El tamaño muy pequeño y discreto. Llevo más de un año con él y aún funciona a la perfección. Un excelente producto.
