The world renowned freestyle MC champion and Richmond, California native, Locksmith is set to drop his first official studio album, A Thousand Cuts. Championed by industry kings like SWAY and Kay Slay, this album is the culmination of a heavy promotional cycle including the release of the mixtape The Green Box which was picked by many blogs last year as one of the best mix tapes of 2013. A Thousand Cuts builds on this success and personifies the life of Locksmith and the struggles that his fan base feels. Nothing is more telling of this than the artwork which features hundreds of fan submitted pictures holding a sign for "A Thousand Cuts" while they battle their daily life (including hospital stays, and more). The album features 12 unreleased tracks with features including R.A. the Rugged Man and Jarrell Perry. The first video featuring R.A. Is now in rotation on MTV Jams and Revolt. Locksmith is a West Coast artist/producer who first gained notoriety in the underground hip hop scene through MTV's MC Freestyle Championship. Lock, along with his group The Frontline received commercial radio play and began building a regional buzz. But it wasn't until he began his solo career in 2011, he started to cultivate a loyal fan base. Locksmith has toured with Joe Budden, Murs, & R.A. The Rugged Man, and collaborated with legendary producers 9th Wonder (Stand It) and Ski Beatz (Lock).
