Review: Great addition to my fabric obsession! - I am an avid sewer, along with quilting and machine embroidery. This steam press makes it so much faster and easier when pressing large pieces of fabric. The steam option helps get out those annoying wrinkles. I have also used it for adding iron-on stabilizer or batting. Very seldom use my regular steam iron. I have it set up for easy access. Although with the handle it is very easy to move when needed. Highly recommend.

**Q: Can you use it without steam/water?**
A: Yes, you don't need to put any water in it.

**Q: can you use liquid starch with it**
A: I have used spray starch without issue from 2007 (SF-660/680) to present (2013 SF-623). Spraying too much starch is an issue of course, but that is self-inflicted one.  It was much worse with the 2007 model.

**Q: Are there steam holes on the inside top surface that could cause "dimples" in the fabric when ironing?**
A: There are steam holes but the don't cause any dimples in the clothes when ironing. At least not for me.

**Q: What happens to the water in the canister if it is not all used when the ironing is done? Will it leak out if I stand the unit upright for storage?**
A: I have never stored other than flat, except for when we moved.   I mention the following because I would be concerned that the water might get into unusual places which might result in rust. 
My first model from 2007 (SF-660 or 680) was lost in moving boxes for at least 6 months and when I attempted to use it again, continuously expressed rust in the water despite a strong effort to cleanse it. Had to buy a new one in 2013.  
My 2013 replacement model, SF-623, just today expressed rust for the first time. I had only used it a half dozen times (all within the last 6-8 months) since we moved in 2018 and I only noticed it very lightly on the last of 4 shirts and 1 pant that I pressed, but the last one was light-colored and partially white.  I had forgotten about following cleaning procedures for one thing.
