Uncompromising Performance and Protection
As a paramedic, my job demands comfort, reliability, and durability in every step I take. That's why I can confidently give the Merrell Men's Moab 2 hiking shoes a resounding five-star review. These shoes have truly been a lifesaver for me on countless emergency calls, long shifts, and challenging terrains. First and foremost, the comfort level of the Moab 2 is unmatched. When you're on your feet for hours on end, responding to emergencies and navigating unpredictable environments, having supportive footwear is paramount. The shoes' cushioning provides excellent shock absorption, reducing fatigue and strain on my feet, even during extended periods of standing or brisk walking. One of the standout features of the Moab 2 is its exceptional grip. As a paramedic, I often find myself treading through slippery surfaces, uneven terrain, and even climbing over obstacles. These shoes offer incredible traction on various surfaces, from wet pavements to rugged outdoor landscapes, ensuring I maintain stability and confidence with every step. The Vibram outsole is a game-changer, delivering reliable traction and grip, especially in emergency situations where time is critical. Durability is another key factor that sets the Moab 2 apart. These shoes are built to withstand the demanding conditions that come with emergency medical services. Whether it's navigating debris-filled areas or enduring harsh weather, the Moab 2 stands strong, providing long-lasting performance without compromising on comfort. The reinforced toe cap and heel counter add an extra layer of protection, safeguarding my feet from potential impacts. Moreover, the Moab 2 incorporates breathability features that keep my feet cool and dry, even during intense situations. The ventilated mesh lining prevents excessive sweating, reducing the chances of discomfort and odor buildup. This is crucial, especially during long shifts where foot hygiene is essential. In terms of fit and sizing, the Merrell Men's Moab 2 delivers a true-to-size experience. The shoes offer ample room in the toe box without sacrificing a secure fit around the heel and midfoot. This balance ensures that my feet remain stable, reducing the risk of blisters or discomfort during high-intensity movements. In conclusion, as a paramedic, the Merrell Men's Moab 2 has proven to be an indispensable asset. Its exceptional comfort, reliable grip, durability, and breathability make it a top choice for professionals like me who rely on their footwear to perform optimally in challenging environments. These shoes have truly become my lifesaver on the job, and I highly recommend them to fellow paramedics and anyone seeking footwear that excels in both performance and comfort.

Amazing!
WARNING- a bit of a long review but I hope it helps! (Just FYI I’m one of those people that agonizes over the reviews beyond what’s healthy, and rarely leave a glowing review myself) As a qualifier: I am a boot “ho.” Yes, not easy to admit but true just the same. I have at any one time 20+ pairs worn for “mission specific” purposes, as my profession and hobbies necessitate wearing boots 99% of the time. I’ve never been brand specific- some brands over all are better but sometimes you pay for the name only and find yourself with a less than top shelf product. Mind you, I’ve been at it for more then several decades so there are many a boot long ago discarded. I put these boots on when I first got them and was immediately surprised at how perfectly they fit, and how they instantly felt like I’d been wearing them for 6 months. I wore them around that evening while out and about, the very next day I wore them for 4 days of a back county pack in Central Washington State, with a 75# pack (I like to bring the kitchen sink, and maybe something hand held and shoulder supported as well-if you catch my drift) in most all manner of terrain except snow. Dry rocky river beds, roads, gravel, up, down, sideways, water, mud (the water repellent was extremely effective) the grip of the tread on boulders was incredible- and I’m astounded at how much my feet didn’t hurt! The support was incredible and my feet had zero issues- i literally put these through the paces and felt no difference than a walk around the block- again, with 75 pounds on my back (I wear size 14, not real smart but can lift/carry heavy things) All joking aside, I’m so impressed with these that I went to Merrill’s website and bought the shoe version for “urban” deployment. I can’t speak to how well they will hold up in the long run, nor can I speak to other products from this maker, this is my first for them, my significant other however has a pair that’s 30 years old and still useable, which along with the overall looks of them made me take the chance. Soooo very glad that I did. That’s my 2 cents worth, hope it helps and hope that everyone else has as amazing an experience as I am, best of luck!

Best boot ever
I've been through a lot of boots to include 5.11, Danner and Merrell. I first bought these boots Dec '22 and they have lasted this long. It comfortable, the 8-inch doesnt seem that high and they are flexible. I went to buy another pair and I was sad to see they came out with a version 3. Please note, they Moab 2 are totally different than the Moab 3. I'd take the Moab 2 over the 3 any day.

I owned a number of tactical boots, most recently the well rated Magnum Stealth Force 8.0. They all followed the pattern of well, tactical boots: on the heavy side (but not excessively so), on the stiff side (but again not excessively so), with good support and protection, waterproof, and offering good but improvable comfort. Some manufacturers do it better than others, but they all build "pure breed" tactical boots as a class of footwear. Merrell have done it differently: Apparently they have taken their Moab 2 hiking boot, added a couple of inches to its height, added a side zipper, painted it black, and called it a day. The result is an outstanding tactical boot, perhaps sacrificing a bit of protection (just a bit though) but adding tons of comfort and also better traction. I can wear these boots all day without the slightest discomfort. As a bonus I can also see myself using them as hiking boots (which they ultimately are). I finally found my ideal tactical boots. In passing note that in my experience all Merrell boots run a bit small, so consider going half a size up. Also note that these booth do not have a polishable toe. This is not a problem for me, but it may be for others so it has to be said.
