How to Use These Emitters:- Place the emitter stakes strategically so that the plant's root ball will be kept damp but not soaked.- Adjust the flow for each plant and again every season according to the plant size. TIP: Remember to reaccess requirements as they grow and needs change!- Use a timer to water twice a day for only 5 or 10 minutes, depending on the plant's needs and weather.- Test to make sure the moisture is getting where you want it. TIP: Don't assume rain means you can turn off the irrigation system. Leaves can redirect rainwater so it doesn't actually reach the roots!MORE TIPS:- To make the tubing MUCH easier to work with, just soak it in warm to hot water or lay it out in the sun for a little while to soften.- Be sure to hold the hole punch at a right angle to the tubing when you punch a hole and you'll get a perfect seal around the barb of the emitter.- Always a good idea to flush the system a bit before installing emitters to clear any debris.- Create your lateral lines (1/4-in. tubing and emitters) BEFORE hooking them up to the main line.- ALWAYS cut the tubing LONGER than needed! Much easier to trim off excess than to try to come up with additional lengths of tubing if miscut too short!- Your emitters farthest from the faucet will need to be set on a freely flowing adjustment due to loss of water pressure.Why do you need an automatic drip irrigation system for your container or raised garden? Simple. Containers dry out so quickly that they often require once or even twice daily watering in hot weather. So just bite the bullet and do it. **Q: how many to a pkg?**
A: I believe it was 50.

**Q: What comes with this product?  The 5.2” drips and the  tubing that connects to the watering tube/hose/pipe?**
A: No tubing comes with this pkg of drippers/sprinklers. order a roll of 1/4 in solid tubing separately, and a “punch” tool separately to insert extensions off the main tubing, which is 1/2 or 5/8 and can be quite long, such as 20–30 ft and still have good pressure.  the main tubing needs to connect to your water source; in my case I had a gardening service do that; they had some other parts and could even start several connections, say, skipping a walkway, by using my previous sprinkler outlets.  if you have none, I think you need a plumbing attachment to your hose bib to start, then add some large tubing throughout the beds.  These are stand-up little drippers that emit in a small circle.  The emitters also come separately with just the emitters; you can punch a hole for each along the large tubing, and not use the small tubing at all.  I use both, to reach plants close and also far from large tubing. This seems to be the modern way to do drip, with no pressure-reducing disks.
