Needing something that was both cheap and used Verizon towers, I decided on this little phone.My previous phone with Virgin Mobile was an LG Optimus FTE, so this phone was a bit of a downgrade. At first, I was a bit disappointed; compared to newer smartphones, this one definitely shows its age a bit. The screen resolution is fuzzier than I'm used to, the size is pretty small, and no back-facing camera. However, the more I've used it, the more it's rather grown on me.Pros: - The small size and shape makes it very handy to carry around. Fits in a pocket well, even with a protective case, and the shape of the phone itself is pretty nice to the eyes...small, compact and efficient. - Simple to set up and to use. Newer smartphones tend to have rather bloated options and settings menus, but it's very easy to find anything you might need to on this little phone. - Absolutely astounding battery life! Even using the stock browser it comes with, and playing on a few little apps all day, it'll still be half-full when you settle in for bed at night. - Pretty decent sound for such a small phone. Not disappointed in the volume or clarity.Cons: - Resolution. It's a little fuzzier than newer phones, and it's hard to see from the sides; plus, the small screen itself takes a bit of getting used to. (The backlighting options, though, are very bright. It's pretty easy to see outdoors with the backlight ramped all the way up.) - Age. The older tech means that you most likely won't be able to download some of the apps you're used to. No more Scramble with Friends for me, for instance; I also have to access Facebook through the browser, since the app doesn't seem to want to install. You'll also want to install a decent swype-style keyboard, since it doesn't come with one. (I'd recommend TouchPal X.) - Memory. While most of the reviews that claim the phone begins to lock-up and crash after only one or two installs are overblown and likely untrue, it IS true that this phone doesn't have much memory to work with. I have four extra apps currently installed (three small games and a swype-style keyboard), and I can tell there isn't going to be functional room for much more. The phone also doesn't really let you move anything to the internal memory; almost everything I've downloaded has to stay in system memory, which severely limits your options.Overall, if you're just looking to access text and calls, and are okay with taking a little longer to access your social networks via browser, this phone does fine. It plays Youtube vids quite well, and even on 3G seems to have respectable speed.
