were these planted in the USA or China?

Doesn't say. I see that it was packaged in Wisconsin, but no info on the origin of beans. From my experience, when there is no origin info it's usually from China.

Can these be used for making miso?

It should work, as I don't think the yellow soybeans used in Japan are any different than American soybeans. I did read that black soybeans are not recommended.
